If they call you from this number, it is a fraud attempt. This is a legitimate Barclay's number, so it seems authentic, but the scammer uses spoofing to pretend they are Barclay's. They are actually trying ot get your credit card info by saying there was a fraudulent charge on your account and then start asking a lot of personal questions. Never give your info out!!! If you are called and are told it is fraud, hang up and call Barclays directly. I called them, and there was no fraudulent charge, and I was told that it was a scammer trying to get my personal info.
This is Barclay. I had an Arrival rewards mastercard and I was having an issue with a miles redemption. Not a scam.
This was a callback from Barclay Card. I'd had a situation of Fraud on my credit card. After two months of no credit nor correspondence to my account, I contacted them once again. I was (and had been) advised several times by call center reps that it was being investigated, but that they don't issue credits until its verified as Fraud. This call, I insisted on speaking to a Manager in the Fraud Dept. They call it 'Security' department, or similar. Anyway; that manager verified that an investigation had never been opened properly even though I had been contacted by Barclay at the time of the charges and advised that the two charges weren't mine. She advised she would issue the credit and I should see it within 3-5 business days. She did process it and followed up with me by leaving a voice mail that everything was completed, which I verified via online account. The ID indicated her call originated from this number. It must be a local 'Main' phone number for Barclay Card, and appear regardless of which department is calling you.
Caller stated he was from Barclays, and knew some things about my family's credit card, but his questions were odd and asked me to verify my date of birth and street address, which Barclays had never done before. After I ended the call, I called the # on the back of my credit card, explained the call I'd just received, and they transferred me to Security. They said that they didn't have a record of any calls being made to me, and stated that they'd never ask those types of questions. It was someone phishing for info.
This call was not spam. It was Barclay's calling in regard to a dispute about a charge on my account.
Somebody left a message telling that i have a credit card with them, I only have one credit card and is not with this people
