Caller hung up when I answered. I'm unemployed (hopefully not for long) so I can't afford to donate anything right now.
FYI -I went tothe Lupus Foundation website with the intent to let them know how harrassing the phone calls are: Here is whatr they say about these numbers (and I quote):Lupus Foundation of Colorado - Lupus Foundation of MinnesotaIf you live in Colorado or Minnesota and are receiving calls from "The Lupus Foundation," it is not the Lupus Foundation of America that is placing these calls. The LFA does not employ telemarketers to solicit donations of household goods. Please contact the appropriate organization listed below. These organizations are not affiliated with the Lupus Foundation of America and we are not able to assist you with having your name removed from their calling lists. You must contact them directly. I received calls from 303 232 4483 every day. I don't answer and they do not leave a message
I've been getting those "Charity Pickup" calls too, every single day, but at varying evening hours. Last night it was after ten p.m. I called and got the message that it was Healing Minds, and left them a blistering message (I was angry so I have no idea what I said, LOL). First of all, automatic dialing is illegal in the state of Colorado. I truly wonder if it isn't some kind of theft ring, checking to see when you answer so it can establish when you are not home. I think tomorrow I will contact the state Attorney General's office. I hope some of you will also.
Do you think this is a real charity, or a place that patterns out when people are home, by making daily calls at various hours of the evening? This is the second time I've written this list, because I don't think I completed it correctly on my last call. Anyhow, there is never anyone on the line when I answer
Healing Minds calls us frequently; we have never donated to them and do not intend to. This group is harrassing us with their phone calls.
This call is from a charity called "Healing Minds" that runs a thrift store that I believe helps generate funds to provide counselors for children (among other services to those with mental illness) of any denomination and is a part of Jewish Social Services of Denver. I like to give to them because they don't spend the money for outrageous salaries of CEOs, etc., (like Good Will or Red Cross). They pick up all kinds of things, clothes, housewares, furniture, toys, books....It is the one "unknown name" call that I'm willing to pick up and donate to at this point.
I block this call on my cell phone. They attempt to contact several times every day. No msg. I have never answered the call.
Called at 10:24 am on 4-9-16. No message was left. Caller ID showed Healing Minds. We started receiving calls from them, with no messages left, last October and we blocked the number. Unfortunately, Comcast only allows us to block a maximum of 25 numbers and I had to remove this number to block other criminal phone scammer numbers. Now Healing Minds is back at abusing our number.
