This number is Aspen Media and Market Research. I used to work there. It's a bunch of young kids and older people who aren't particularly qualified for a lot of jobs. Most of them live in a half way house. So go easy on 'em will ya? Also, it is a media and market research company. They're not actually selling anything, just taking surveys and giving free magazine subscriptions to businesses. No one there will ever ask for financial information. Also, they have a list that they will take you off of if you just answer the phone and kindly say no. But they do get extra praise and sometimes a raise if you take the survey, which isn't going to harm you at all, so give somebody a break and take they survey, we all gotta work right?? These people are just trying to pay rent and bills and doing what they're told, just like you do at your job.
You're right. Some telemarketers are legit but Aspen is NOT. There is this little law out there that forces telemarketers to use the DO Not CALL process. Aspen does NOT do this. That makes them illegal. By the way, the next time you lie about working for the company, don't use the first person (we) while describing Aspen. You should use THEY . It really does not matter though because it's obvious you work for the looser company called ASPEN.
Call came to my cell phone. Answered and got a beeping sound, hung up. After hundreds of calls over the years, more reports to the FTC and than I can even remember, I finally stepped it up and reported them to my local attorney general's office (CO went let non locals place reports with them). I actually thought that finally got them to stop. I hadn't heard from them for an entire 6 weeks. But they resumed calling today.I'll file another report with AG, I'm considering reaching out to the police. Maybe I'm incorrect, but I believe that many states consider this volume of calls to a single number (especially after being asked/told/agreeing to stop calling) is harassment.Everyone, report these not just to the FTC, but to your attorney general. They're your only chance of someone taking this seriously.
File an FCC complaint for each call.Being "on the list" is just half of the procedure. Organizations don't access the national database and check to see if a number is registered. If you are on the Do Not Call list, then you got all of this info when registering! An organization or business is allowed to call, and SPEAK with you once. It's at that time that you inform them you're on the list and to not call again. If you don't--they will keep calling.
If you are calling only those people who are signing up for 'free' magazines, then why would you be talking about buying new lists of phone numbers. I for one never signed up for free magazines and I would never do so. How did they get my name to do a survey or why would they even try to do a survey on me?? If it smells like fish and looks like fish then it's fish.
