Caller ID said "US Govt". Probably the IRS scam. Didn't answer it, no message left on answering machine.

Call was legit. It was from an IRS Revenue Officer I had been working with.

got 3 back to back calls from this number. the IRS will NEVER call you. they only correspond by mail. The only call you would get would be a local number from an IRS agent if you are working with one. they will give you their badge/id number and send you letters before contacting you by phone.

This is really that IRS Ray just mask their number so you won't reach anyone when you call back.

This is true however it is NOT the IRS is is and agency that reports to Congress to help tax payers

I requested help from the Taxpayer Advocate Service in a dispute I have with the IRS. About two weeks after filing my request, I got a call from this number from the advocate assigned to help me. It's legit but that doesn't mean a scammer couldn't be spoofing it.

This is the IRS. I opened a case and a guy called me. He was asking for an explanation of my case. he did not ask names or SSN. It is for real. He knew I went to an IRS office and the day and reason of my visit. This is not scam.
