I told him to go bone himself and stick his dick in a meat grinder
that's what I told them, he responded wanna buy one?? I told him not from you..
"Gary" told me my computer wasn't working right. When I told him I had multiple computers, he seemed confused. When he said my windows machine, and I said I didn't have one, he said my apple, then. When I pointed out that maybe he should know what kind of computer is having "so many problems" he admitted that maybe I sounded disinterested in his service. Indeed I am, "Gary." Indeed, I am.
annoying, calls several times, no voicemail, answered once to a rude person
Caller said something was wrong with my computer. I hung up on him!
One of these "there is something wrong with your computer" scams. Did not stay on the line long enough to get much details.
Female with accent called and told me my computer was having problems.
Received a call from this number this morning. I do not answer unknown numbers. From others' description, it sounds like this is the VERY common, "Windows Support" scam. This has been going on for years now. The FBI and Interpol have been working to curb these scams, but it is very difficult due to the fact that these calls often originate in foreign countries. The scammers use spoofed numbers that they often create through Google Voice and the like to make it appear as though the caller is based in the U.S.For those of you insisting that being registered on the Do Not Call list is all that should be needed to stop receiving these calls, please get real! The people calling you are CRIMINALS, do you actually think they follow the law?NOTE: No one from Microsoft will EVER call a customer to inform them their PC is "infected". Hell, even your Antivirus provider won't call you. NEVER give strangers calling you access to your PC by having you follow links to install remote desktop software. NEVER give them your credit card or other sensitive information. Just hang up the phone! Also, I've recently had clients come to me about a new variant of this scam. I have yet to witness it first hand, but sounds like a PC user stumbles onto a site that contains malicious content, opens up a Web browser popup that can't be closed through traditional methods, and tricks users into calling a toll-free number because their PC is "infected". The popup sometimes presents itself as a "Blue screen of death" error claiming there is a problem with the PC and you are instructed to call the number to get support. No legitimate blue screen of death error contains a support number to call. This new variant of this scam does not infect the computer when the popup displays. Generally, restarting the computer is all that is needed to get past the window (which apparently can't be closed with the X or right-clicking on the browser in the task bar and selecting "Close". But scan your computers for safe measure if you get this! I use Malwarebytes Antimalware. Great program.
Call to say my computer was ready
I received a call today. Caller ID said from Kenneth D Brown at 2:18 PM. Since I felt like messing with someone today I answered the phone. There was a lot of background talk. I said Hello about 7 times with no response so I hung up. I know this was a scam but I just felt like messing with them today but didn't actually get the chance.
