I get the same thing daily. It rings, I answer, pause... hang up. Seems automated to me actually. The pause is the same, or at least it seems so. On the ignore list it goes!
I got a call today on my cell phone. They hung up before I could answer. I seldom use my cell. Only my daughter and son have the number. Strange, but they also called my home phone last week. I could block them on that phone.

Scammers calling from a FAKE NUMBER. They say they know you and they claim you called them before about some home construction (huge lie). If you call their number back, it says "Number Not In Service". I'd love to know where these crooks are REALLY calling from, because this is a fake phone number (spoofed). Tell them you want to verify who they are before talking to them. As soon as you ask for their business name, address, and REAL phone number, they hang up on you.
About six weeks ago, these people called me for what was probably the thirtieth time. I had always told them I was on the do-not-call list and that I am a renter who cannot authorize work on this house. Every time they call it is a new sales person who says he or she had met me last year at some show and that I had told them to call me in the next year or so. The last time they called I acted like I was happy they called me. They said they would send a salesman over to see me in a week. Two guys showed up and I told them about the bad foundation under my house and that they needed to go underneath to check it out in order to give me a proper estimate. The both crawled around under the house, checking out the leaky mess and the dead rats and an old sewer leak that had dried out. They had to crawl through some dried out toilet paper from the sewer leak. They found what I had told them about in the subfloor crawlspace, and then I told them about the bad heating unit and water heater up in my attic, which is a space only about 2 feet tall and hotter than heck and full of insulation and asbestos. They spent quite a bit of time in my attic, and I could hear them cussing as they ripped their clothes on roofing nails that protrude into the attic space. When they climbed down fifteen minutes later, clothing torn and filthy and bleeding, I told them about the windows that needed replacement. I directed them around the side of the house, where the septic system had been bubbling up for the last few months. The big heavy guy sank into the wet lawn and lost his shoe. Trying to pull his shoe out of the muck, he lost his balance and flopped over onto his supervisor, knocking him down into the wet grass. They finally made their way over to my old windows with the rotted sills and looked them over. On their way back to dry ground, the big guy lost his other shoe and flopped onto his backside and soaked his pants in stinky soil. He wasn't laughing when he had hauled himself out, though his boss thought it was hilarious. Despite the trouble I put them through, I told them they obviously could not come in because they were so filthy. They agreed and said they needed to go back to the estimating department to put a bid together. They called me back several times and even though I was home almost every time, I did not answer. I made them suffer in the vacuum of my silence for ten or eleven days. Eventually the supervisor started getting a little testy, so I finally answered. He soon made a long-winded presentation to me on the phone, and I peppered him with lots of questions as he tried again and again to close the deal. Then I finally told him that he needed to talk with my landlord. He is my brother, and I had told him the whole long story about these pestering idiots. Two weeks later, my brother is still stringing these idiots along. There is not a chance he will do the repairs because he is planning to tear the place down this coming summer. He just hopes he can string them along until then before he tells them, "No." We won't mention the do not call list again to them, because they want to learn the hard way. We are happy to oblige them.
Called me trying to get us to buy solar for our home. I asked them to put me on the DO NOT FKN CALL LIST. Hope it worked. They called me yesterday too but I missed the call.
We average 3-5 calls a day from "California". We answer and they do not respond. Finally today I spoke with Mike. I told him to take us off their list and that I was going to report them. He cursed me and hung up. He said he was from California Solar Company. 310-822-3669
