They said my name wrong Dennis and from Auto services not selling anything I hung up
These idiots kept calling me so I started calling them again and again and again. They got mad and told me to [***] off! So I called them about ten more times.
That's what happened to me. $100 survey. Now I can't keep my email box empty and my phone won't stop ringing. I didn't even get the 100.
They called me last night. Then again today. I called back twice and got hung up on. So tired of them calling me.
Since Christmas Eve I have received multiple calls from different numbers. Some two or three times an hour. I am on do not call.
Greets and happy holidays to all,I put this warning out here every time I am on this wonderful site as you people have helped me so much by taking the time to report your experiences with the people who called from these numbers. My best friend since kindergarten works for the National "Do Not Call Registry" they are understaffed and under budgeted and basically totally ineffective. They know it but what are they supposed to do say we can't help you we don't have the resources to do our jobs? Unfortunately this is the case. Katey has however, shared some information which is very helpful since knowledge is power. The vast majority of the calls in violation of the laws set down for telemarketers and for collection agencies are illegal sources, scammers and such who do not give a damn about laws and can't be caught to be penalized by any "Do Not Call Registry" or any FCC enforcement you can think of. They have a department working on these kinds of things 24/7 but according to Katey the number of illegal sources is doubling every 5 to 7 days so it is a real job to keep-up with them and thanks to the internet you can't really place them anywhere in the world with any accuracy however, most of the trouble spots are in India and Africa AT THE MOMENT! Scams coming from India are starting to surpass those from Cameroon & Nigeria. The number one spot is India followed closely by Tibet & and Israel is now becoming a problem along with Afghanistan. The people who call you who give you the option of being put on their do not call list are not putting you on a list of people not to call. They are harvesting numbers. Hey, here's a number where someone answered and was able to follow the instructions to ask for something, don't call me! Well, to them this is money in the bank. You just told them you are real. These numbers are put together on a list and sold at a premium price as the numbers are verified good. Telemarketers don't have to rely on machines calling thousands of numbers in the hope of getting a good one. That's why when you tell them to put you on the do not call list you start to get more calls. Then we have jokers like this one who is obviously on the job of keeping lists current. If the lists start to show too many bad numbers the value of the list goes down which is why you are getting calls from the same Indian a** h*le from many different numbers multiple times a day. He will usually stick with the same spiel, this one uses car insurance but they can also use others or they can just play dumb, I don't understand English or the ultimate, just hang-up. Some of them seem to get off on pissing you off and this guy seems to be one of them. We went three rounds with the "may I ask who is calling" line. I got multiple unintelligible answers and finally he hung-up. If you want to piss him off, my husband discovered the perfect way the other night. Just get excited and tell him you are really, really interested. You have your credit card at the ready, how soon can he get you insured and how long will it take for you to have the paperwork so you can send his full payment. Tell him you can only send him 50% until you have the documents and can confirm the coverage. Watch him sputter. He is thinking fast how to get your money but nobody ever takes him up on anything, that's not what he's about but he is GREEDY enough he is trying to think of something to say to make you think he will be able to sell you this wonderful policy. After he sputters for a while tell him you are sorry but he sounds suspicious to you as he is taking so long and say you'd rather buy elsewhere, bye, bye and hang-up. You'll get a call back an hour later with what sounds like a more polished presentation and then you can tell him to shove it! He went off like a bomb when my husband did this. I could hear him yelling into the phone across the room, my husband was laughing so hard the guy finally swore at him some more and never called back. Laughter, it's more than a great contraceptive! It prevents other unwanted consequences!Have a Happy New Year!NB: I want to thank everyone here at 800notes.com for always being so wonderful and taking the time to make a report on these calls. I can not tell you how much you have helped me. Some of the numbers can be blocked some are from numbers that the phone company says are not in service (too many of the scammer calls are like this) what I do with these calls is put them in my contacts on my cell phone as a SCAMMER & I give it a special ring........Ghosts Talking! So when my phone rings and al I hear is the garbled whispering that people claim to be ghosts talking that they recorded then I know it's a BS call and I just ignore it! Every time they call I increase the number of times they have called so if it's a really bad one I report it to the phone company, in my case Verizon. I have to admit if it's your cell phone Verizon really is on the ball with this as the calls from numbers which are not in service just stop!
