Missed call on my cell from Utica, NY, USA. No voicemail left. Looks like another scam.Whatever you do, DO NOT put your number on any "do not call" list. American "do not call" laws have no real teeth and scammers use these lists to harvest numbers to call! Don't publish your phone number on any of these lists.

I just received a call and answered but there was nobody on the other line

I got a call from this number on my cell this morning, early. I do not answer call I do not recognize, so did not answer. No voice message. I came to this site, to see who was calling!! Thank heavens for this site, it has clued me in on so many scams!! I am immediately blocking this number!!

DO NOT PRESS ANY BUTTON!!!! That's WHAT THEY WANT!!!! It tells the ROBO-DIALER that there is a human answering this line! That's exactly what they want to know so that they can put you back in the auto-dail-que that has been CONFIRMED to be answered by a living, breathing human!!! Then you will get MORE CALLS! And not just from them but from every other Robo-Call company out there that they SELL your telephone number to which has been CONFIRMED to be answered buy a REAL person!! Don't do it! IGNORE these calls and your number will automatically be taken out of the DIALING QUE. The A.D. computer programe MUST PURGE data (YOUR #), eventually if it's NOT "fruitful"!!

Called very early, didn't answer. After reading this thread I'm blocking it. Seems like they're still at it

The reason there is "silence" when you answer the phone without saying 'hello", is because the RoboCop is waiting for a response. DO NOT give a response!! if you do your number will be put back into the Dialing Que that has been "confirmed" to be answered! That will then INCREASE THE CALLS! Best thing is to ignore it and eventually your number will be purged out of the robocall Dialing Que automatically and the calls will stop.

Called me 3 times in a row, answered the 3rd call and no one spoke back. Creepy!

They are able to call you because they are criminals. The only people who abide by the Do Not Call Registry are legitimate telemarketing companies. The DNCR doesn't prevent anyone from dialing your number.Most of these unwanted scam & telemarketing calls are coming from outside the United States by people using spoofed caller ID's. A previous poster said that the number was registered to a Kevin Cassanova in Utica, NY. I doubt very much Kevin Cassanova is the one calling. More likely, it's some guy from Nigeria, India or wherever using a spoofed (stolen) caller ID.Unfortunately, with the sheer number of calls & cellular technology that enables people to get phone numbers from anywhere in the world, the authorities just can't keep up. By the time they make some headway, technology changes & they basically have to start all over.It sucks, but this is the price we pay to have all of our cool electronic toys.
