You know it's a scam got a call from this number and I live in Canada we don't have social security numbers in Canada. Up here it is call social insurance numbers. What a joke if they think they could pull of this scam in Canada when has nothing to do with Canada. I guess they did not realize that the area code 604 is a Canadian area code.
was a social security fraud call. saying case numbercp97152.ect take my number ect.. called social security office wasn't them. they said it was a scam tto get my infermation
Same as the others. Message warning me of legal action on my SS if I don't call back. Same case ID as others. Yeah, right.
Thanks everyone else for confirming my suspicion.
Definitely a scam trying to phish for social security information. Left a pre-recorded voicemail claiming that if they were not contacted it would be an "intentional attempt to avoid initial appearance before the magistrate judge and would lead to your social security number suspension." Referenced the case number as CP97152 (same case number listed by another poster above). Caller ID shows the call is from Plainfield, Indiana.
Social Security scam. Referenced case #CP97152.
Phishing Scam trying to get SS# for ID Theft
Scam. They want to cancel your SS card and reissue a new card and number. The man gave the name David Miller with an African accent. When I told him I would contact the SS office he said there was no need to do that. He also mentioned that a car was found in southern Texas where my social security number was found inside along with several thousand dollars and cocaine and that Marshals were on there way to search my home. Stupid.
Recorded message states they are with the social security administration, and that my ( whoever answers the phone) social security number is being investigated for fraudulent activity, and gives the number I entered and a case number to reference. It says social security number will be de-activated if no response.
Left message, very bad recording for Social Security Scam

Someone using this number called, when I answered there seemed to be there cut I said "hello" twice and no one said a thing. I hung up. If it was a collector they would not only answer but keep you on the line for as long as it took.

Yes. The caller claimed to represent Document Delivery Services and threatened to serve me with papers from a fifteen year old debt. A check with my local County Clerk’s Office revealed no evidence of lawsuit filed.
