All day today, I've gotten calls every half hour from various "Name Unavailable" numbers with bizarre, looking area codes, all different, including this number. I don't know why today, all of a sudden, this is happening. As it is, I'm continually getting calls for the "Parents of Armando Rodrieguez" in the Clayton County school system. I don't live, nor have I ever even been to Clayton County. I also know no one with a kid named Armando. The calls are all automated messages, and during the school year, they come from 8:00am to 11:00pm at night, 10 times a day. Once, I picked up and got a live person for a change and explained that they have a wrong number in their system. Their reply? "I'm sorry ma'am, but Armando's parents will have to come down to the school office and change the records."I'm sick of having to change my number when stuff like this happens, so I've gone to personal expense to order a more sophisticated phone and upgrade my service to include a block feature so I won't get these stupid calls any more. I can't help wondering if this is some new terrorist ploy, just like all the companies who seem intent on ripping me off (happens at least once a week). Instead of being killed by bombs, the terrorists have put their operatives into our nation's companies to rip us off, nickel and dime us into penury, and make nuisance calls to us 20 times a day. Either we all go bankrupt or insane, whichever comes first. I swear I'm moving to Canada.
Called my cell number and didn't leave a message when I did not answer. I reported it to my cell company as I have heard there is NO Such Area Code in the United States. I read one report that it is a scam call coming from Ghana.
calling asking for Kenneth. I've had this number for over 12 years. No Kenneth in my family.
Just got a call from this number a few minutes ago. I'm on the do not call registry as well. The calls dropped off for a while (I got 10 in one day about 6 weeks ago). I think sometimes they get them from job boards (if you have your resume online).I got so fed up I wrote my Senator about it.I actually threatened legal action against one of the companies. I threatened to sue them for $100 million if they didn't stop. I managed to get the name of the place from the guy on the phone. I looked them up on the Internet, I called them and had a very stern, but polite conversation with the manager (I assume) who answered the phone. The company was for a "pre-approved loan". The problem is, I hadn't applied for any loans.I actually read about a guy who actually sent invoices to telemarketers, and actually sued a couple of them in small claims court and won.
This man called and asked me, "We see here that you signed up to go back to school." I said ," I'm only 14." So, the guy says, with a nasty attitude might I say,"Well get off the phone 14 year old." Then he hung up. When I called back it told me that the number as out of service.
