none of those companies or the government really give a crap or it would not keep happening
Just got a call from this number, I did not recognize it so I let it go to voicemail. They did not leave a message, but a Google search showed it is a telemarketing call. I'm on the do not call list, yet these calls keep coming.
Call showing as local but number is 347-916-3605 (far from local area code). They did not leave any message.Thankful for caller id so I do not answer calls of numbers I do not recognize.
I used to get 20 to 30 calls a day. The only reason I have this phone is "the doctors" need a phone number to plaster everywhere. I give them this number, which I never answer. The machine picks up on the second ring. MESSAGE: You have reached (phone number). Socialistic indoctrinators and peddlers P A Y A T T E N T I O N. This phone is never answered by a human so do not go brain dead and keep calling back! Others, leave a name and phone number for a return call. Guess what, 5% are brain dead and try five or six times before they figure it out. The rest try new numbers to "get around" the message. Eventually they figure it out. Now the phone is quiet for days and then a spurt on a day or two of 3 or 4 calls. Amazing, the tables turned on these idiots. They never leave messages. I am not interested in their message anyhow. I have a cell phone which only family has and that's my phone. Never goes to any business, ever. When it rings, it's family.
I believe I've received two calls from this number at the same time on two consecutive Monday mornings. Call appears as 'local', but 347 isn't, and of course I neither answer, or have my answering machine on anymore. I'm suspecting these crooks are hoping for a 2-for-1 deal: while they're aiming to trick you into revealing personal information, they're also phishing for live numbers--money in their pockets. They know your number is live, either through answering, or having a machine take it, they'll likely sell your number to other scammers. A while back I was getting hammered with and taking worthless calls daily. I turned off my answering machine and I've noticed a substantial decrease in the volume I'm receiving.
The card service scammers WILL 'service' our credit cards, BUT, when they finish 'servicing' them, they will have NO available credit remaining! People that are fooled into having their cards 'serviced' will be charged a MINIMUM of $795.00, and many times the ENTIRE amount remaining on the card. The card service scammers are a disgusting group of degenerates, who prey mainly on the low income, and the elderly, but will cheat anyone that they can!
I just received call from same no. and I did not answer. I now have number written down by main phone with smoke alarm beside it so if and when they call again very timely that I just decided to test my smoke alarm.
