Got a call from this phone number and they hung up when I didn't answer. Didn't leave a message.
Shows on my caller I.Doug. as "Unavailable". I let it go to voicemail and get a computer voice saying there is a problem and the call will be ended. Calls 2to 3 Times a day.
Get calls from this all the time. It's a scam trying to get access to you computer. I tell them I need to turn off the donkey porn and start giving them descriptions of it. They generally hang up and don't call back for a month or so. It's very funny to mess with them.
They called me 4 times in 3 hours today. I screamed an obscenity into the phone...and it only made it happen more. Need a whistle!!!
I received the same scam call today that you all are reporting (this was not the first call that I have received from that #, but this is the first time I have answered it). A man with an Indian accent claiming to be with Microsoft Tech Support called and stated that his system shows that my computer has a virus. Since it was still my version of early and I was feeling feisty I decided to ask if he was sure, then told him I doubted there was an issue, then when he asked if I was in front of my computer, I asked "um, what if I don't have a computer?". Yeah... he then hung up on me. If you want to know if it's real, act like a weirdo. Real "support staff" have to be tolerant of ditzy weirdos; scammers don't. ;-) I do honestly worry about friends/family members falling for this though; remember, TRUST NO ONE! I have reported this # to Microsoft (you can Google Microsoft Virus Scam, and the Microsoft web link that comes up has a section in it where you can file a scam report). Also, if you keep getting calls from this # to your cell phone, you can block the # via your cell provider (which I may have to do soon now that I possibly ticked them off).
A man with a strong Indian accent called my cell and told me that my computer with windows has a virus. I asked how he got my phone number and he said that he got it from where I bought the computer...not possible! I told him that if I couldn't speak to someone who spoke English that I was hanging up. Total scam...I hung up!
Just recieved a call from this number. After a delayed connection, and Indian man told me my computer was sending an error message, and he was from Microsoft attempting to help me "fix" the problem. I told him I don't have a computer that runs on windows. He then said something about a laptop...he quickly became aggressive bordering on mean. I hung up...looked up Microsoft scams, and voila...don't be fooled.
