So why are you all even answering these calls from unknown numbers??? All that does is confirm the number is valid and it will be sold/given to other scammers.If all of the sheeple refused to answer this scam (and others) would go away.

This number called over and over tonight and every time I answered, no one was there. Finally, someone with a foreign accent answered and said that my computer has been hacked. I said that I don't own a computer and he said and I quote" Then why the f--- am I calling you" and hung up on me. What a scam! Would like to know how to report this number!!

Came up 'Unknown Number' and the man claimed to be someone from Microsoft, wanting to help fix a virus on my computer. They've called at least 5 times today, and it's incredibly annoying.

As with most, I'm getting these calls two, three, four times a day. It is obviously either a 'bot or scam call. If I do not recognize the phone/caller ID, I manually initiate my fax machine to answer. While this doesn't eliminate all of them totally, it does give me the satisfaction of knowing that they got the harsh, annoying fax tone if there's a live caller on the other end.IMHO, I would like the FCC and FTC to make the fines on this type of calling (for those on the Do Not Call List) enormous so as to make it worth our while to spend the time taking them to court to sue.

This guy called me today. As someone advised, I tried to pretend to be innocent and asked him "what is internet". He got angry and disconnected. But, as soon as he hanged up, he did manage to send a script to my Chrome browser that I was using at that time. I saw a new window open up showing that my computer is under a virus and started an audio that a virus got into my computer and the system is halted. I tried to close the window but I couldn't. I got scared for my data and restarted the system. I ran the Bitdefender program for an intensive virus scan but it didn't find any. I guess that my browser is corrupted. I don't know if the spammer did it or how he did it.

A man with a distinct eastern accent in a noisy call center claiming he was with Microsoft and my computer was sending Microsoft error reports.

Call showed up yesterday on my caller ID, same today, I answered, no one answered back, then disconnect. #348-975-6987. I opted out of marketing calls. Lot of good that did.

I simply inform them that they have called a US Marshal's office, and we run UNIX on our computers at work. I then ask if they would be so kind as to stay on the line so I could trace the number past the Washington DC Exchange. If they hang on the line, I humph a little and say "Wow, your switch box is on the Northwest side of the building". If they continue, I generally make up something like they are sitting on the second floor, facing west. Called claiming to be Microsoft rep and my computer had viruses. Computer is fine. Agent refused to give agent ID number. Was turned over to "supervisor" who after learning I had a degree in computer information systems and network engineering told me to "go [***] yourself, sir."
