Received a call from 360-210-3456 ...Most of these posts say that the caller was from India - I had my husband answer the call (they just started calling me yesterday evening, and called 9 times, twice so far this morning! I haven't ordered anything online recently, so I am not sure why they just started calling). Anyway, my husband answered and spoke with a woman he said had an African accent (thick, he could barely understand her) who also had some of my card information (such as my expiration date...he couldn't understand the rest) and wanted to give me a gift card. My husband told her to stop calling my phone and then called our bank to report the phone call (just in case anything suspicious happens on my account). The only way most of these people get information is online, and I am one of those people who only orders online from "major" websites. Still, it doesn't matter, because anywhere you shop online with a card, it's a risk (more so if you are shopping using a public wifi connection). Gotta watch it!
I fitst got the call 2 days ago. They said I had won a $100 gift card. They had the last four numbers of my bank card and I verified my address. Today starting early this morning they called four time so far each time I told them to never to call here again. I then called my bank and they, after googling the number, strongly recomended blocking my account and issuing a new bank card w/ new number. I strongly recomend to anyone who has experienced these calls to do the same.
Vonage is our carrier and they offered to change our phone number but said they could not block non 800, 866, etc. numbers. The only thing we can do if we don't want to change our # is contact our local police department and report this to them. They can set up a trap. I haven't done this yet, but 360-210-3456 called my home 13 times yesterday. It is best to not answer, if you have caller ID and know it is them calling. They are definitely trying to scam you. Do not answer their calls.
I got a call from 360-210-3456 also today as I have several times this week. I told them I was going to contact the PUC and the SEC and the authorities if they call back. They say they're going to send a $100 gift card and that they're "affiliated" with Target, Walmart, McDonald's etc. The guy, with an accent similar to someone outside the US, said he works for Global Rewards, and he that he's located in Tampa Florida with a "360" area code which is actually for Washington. Let's do something to get rid of scammers! I contacted my credit card company yesterday, and I asked them to monitor my credit card like a hawk going forward, and they are! They said that should any transactions show up on there that I did not authorize that I am not responsible for them. I spoke to the security department of my credit card company also. Everyone, please be careful. The last thing you want to do on the phone is say the word "YES". They might record you, and use it for something you did not authorize.
Have received 4 calls from this number within the kast 2 hours. Told them to stop calling with the first call but the guy wouldn't take no for an answer? Quite an accent, sounds, sorry, to be of an Indian or Pakistani dilect ( similiar to those who help with IT help desks). Called themselves Global something....
This number is clearly in India. Somehow they have a Washington area code attached to it, but we need to figure a way to stop this kind of thing. I see that other people are as irritated as I am. If they continue to call you, it means that they are probably looking to make a false charge on your credit card. When they offer you a $100 gift card, just tell them you don't need it! Threaten to call the authorities on them. This guy "Michael Gimenez", and he didn't even know how to spell Jimenez correctly said my supervisor can give you our address. If he can't give you the address, you know it's a scam. Let's stay alert and keep each other posted!
