This number called and left a voicemail message stating my credit card that is in their system will auto renewal in two days for computer services and software warranty. I need to call them to cancel instantly. I don't have any such warranty and the voicemail doesn't even give a company name. This is a scam
A. Beal: Scam - A robot left a voice/data message wanting to talk about my wanting to cancel my 'subscription' (what subscription?) and said if the number they called from doesn't match any numbers on the service, call them right away. The call was from Aberdeen, WA. I do work with a person out in WA by the same name this person left, but is not in the 360 area code. I did not call or reply. Live and learn...
Another fake IRS scam number. Obviously, the recording was translated from another language into English, the syntax and grammar were extremely poor, e.g., "this call is emergency, extremely urgent" and "...you will be taken under arrest by local cops". Number shows up on Caller ID as just "Aberdeen, WA", but I'm quite sure it originated nowhere near there, as in, not even on the North American landmass!
Just received the same IRS scam from this number at 10:55 a.m. Eastern time. Gives you 24 hours to respond or "cops" come to your house for you. Claims your taxes have 4 major criminal flaws. I haven't done my 2017 taxes yet. It couldn't be a more obvious scam and quite amateurish at that but I fear some folks may fall for this during tax season. These tax scams are getting wide publicity in my area and I hope that's the same everywhere.
