Airmiles does have a contest that just ended where you can win 100,000 airmiles BUT you would know if you entered the contest online through their official website AND the draw date isn't until sometime in May, 2011. PLUS the point go right on your collectors account and they don't need to confirm any info from you because you would have done that when you registered for the contest only a month ago.I never answer #'s I don't know and so far this # has called multiple times, leaving messages each time, one for Walmart, one for Rogers (which I have NEVER been a customer of) and Airmiles of course!Bottom line is: If you really do win something they don't need a credit card # for any reason! Even if it was actually Airmiles wanting to give you some points as a prize, you would have a collector card # (for your points) that is different from your credit card # !!!!!!

I got a call from this number on my cell but had my ringer off because I was sleeping. Checked here to see where it was from. I now have this and other numbers under "SCAM" in my address book with a muted ring tone. There should be a way to block these calls on your phone or through the phone company. I also think the phone companies should be held responsible for giving out these numbers to illegal enterprises. The phone companies, politicians and law enforcement should be more proactive. "Cell phone numbers became public as of Jan 1, 2011." Why? I just got rid of my land line phone because of the number of unsolicited calls. Now I have to deal with this on my cell? With today's technologies there has to be a way to stop unsolicited call. Also, the fact that we are here looking up unsolicited/unknown number says 1) there is no real attempt to stop them and 2) there are a lot of people answering and falling for whatever is being offered. If no one answered then eventually they would stop.
I got a call from this number several times but haven't picked I up. Judging by what you all are saying I'm glad I didn't. As far as cell Phone numbers going public, I registered my number on the site that is supposed to remove my number from public access. So I don't know what is going on. I guess no matter what securities you put in place there is always someone out there able to get past them.
Just got a call from this number. Person said I won a trip to Cancun from WestJet Vacations. Of course I hung up right then.
Received this call many times. Whenever I have a few minutes free, I Press 1 and agree that I am over 25 and have a valid credit card. I let the Cancun Calling sales person go on and on (to waste their time) and then hang up when they ask for a credit card number. Like as if I would give out a credit card number to someone who calls me!
i just got a call from them. they said i won some airmiles and needed my credit card number too. i "acted" all excited because i knew this was a scam- 1) i don't have airmiles, 2) i don't GIVE my credit card info and 3) i don't know this company.anyways.... i said " cool... let me get my card.." and i walked around the house while i put the laundry away pretending to find the card. "oh, i can't seem to find it" hm,,,mmmm. no, not there either. oh oh, that sucks"the person finally said "do you HAVE THE CARD NUMBER OR WHAT".... and I said, "no- i am just wasting your time. " and hung up
