Received a message from John stating he was part of the BCBS Blues on Call Registered Nurse staff- called the number back. It's basically a sales pitch about one of the members services.
Also received a call and refused to give them any information. My insurance company knows who I am already. This is a phishing attempt.
Called the other day and left message with a different phone number to call. That number did go into Highmark Blue Shield. The issue I have is with our supposed privacy of our personal information!!!!!! During the conversation with the representative to resolve the problem that they called ME about I learned that they OUTSOURCE the PRINTING OF MEMBERS MONTHY PRESCRIPTION SUMMARY TO A DIFFERENT COMPANY. Keep in mind along with with that goes your information. All these papers you are given for privacy mean nothing anymore. THESE COMPANIES DONT CARE ABOUT ANYTHING BUT PROFIT!!!
Absolutely! They fake the call to gather personal info. Many folks have legitimate Highmark plans. They must use recognizable numbers. I think their database may have been hacked!
A Blues on Call health coach from Highmark Blue Cross/Blue Shield called from this number and left a message on my VM. It's a legitimate call and number.
They claimed to be my insurance company but never stated who my insurance is. They also refused to answer any questions and said I would have to ask my doctor... But they were insurance questions about the reason they claimed to have called me! When I pressed for answers they hung up. Seems fishy to me!! I agree with the poster who said those who insist this is highmark calling probably work for the scammers. Or they've somehow managed to make it look like they call from the same line. But this is definitely a scam, a good one. Call highmark back for any basins you need to conduct and before giving out any personal information. Either way, it's just safe and won't cost you anything that way.
