It's Highmark calling regards to the upcoming changes in plans due to the split of benefits between them and UPMC in case you have any questions. I do, when can I change to UPMC, I have had nothing but problems with Highmark! Good riddance
They should NOT ask for your Social Security Number to compare with any information "they have" they will just take it & tell you that does not match so you can give more personal information... >:(
It was a personal wellness coach from Highmark following up on the online health and wellness assessment I took.
This number called and wanted to speak to my son, I said no he's a minor. They insisted that they speak with him even just to get permission to speak to me on his behalf. I refused and said my son has enough going on he doesn't need to speak with them. Furthermore all I have is someone calling wanted to speak to my underage son and not willing to give info, sorry not happening. She said OK I understand. And we hung up. My son is having mental health issues right now and doesn't need anyone calling quizing him. I could understand wanting to speak to the policy holder but not a underage kid. Wtf?
Received a call from this#. Said Pittsburgh, PA.and it was spelled Pittsburgh. Called it back and it said Highmark. I have Highmark Coverage. Also worked there. You do not need to give your social security # to them. If you have coverage with them give your id#. Anytime you call them you should know that they will ask your ud#, your name, your correct address, dob. That us for verification purposes. There are a lot if different departments that may call you. There are various services they offer with your benefit plans. Such as the ability to talk to a nurse. Or to remind people it's flu season and remind you to get your flu shot. If you choose to talk to them that's fine. It's your choice. But again...you do not need to give your ss#.
Working in customer service for over 20 years, if they call you or you call them you need to verify info regardless, or no info is giving to you. If they call you to the number on file regarding your health insurance, and your number on file for some reason is not correct or someone else in your home answers and they say its you. So they give this person that said it was you, and obviously is not you, all of your health insurance information. Health information is very sensitive. So if they call you or you call them you still need to verify. The caller does not know they are calling your house. They are just calling the number on file,
When your number is on a do not call list, that list is for telemarketers only. Maybe some one made a type-o when entering their phone number and unfortunately its yours. If no one in the home has highmark blue cross blue shield. Simply say "I am sorry but my household does not have Highmark blue cross blue shield."
Call WAS from Highmark. They didn't ask me anything beyond my name and they GAVE me info on a change in my coverage. I KNEW that this change was coming, as it was something that I had requested. This was a totally legitimate call from Highmark.
Calling from Highmark to sell me a Medicare supplement. I already have a Highmark Medicare supplement. Highmark or some third party on behalf of Highmark calls or sends me junk mail almost every other day. Maybe if Highmark would stop wasting time and money bothering me and its other subscribers, they might be able to lower their premiums.
A woman left a voicemail faster than you can say SCAM IGNORE this Number.. I'm mentioning a few examples from other comments posted to see the differences associated with this fraudulent phone number. Based on other comments I can say it's scam without hesitation, few examples were it was a one ringer, someone called back not a working number, many said was told it is High Mark but someone called Highmark to verify number and Highmark saud they don't call out to their customers they will send a letter. Many comments about Pittsburgh being misspelled, very grid absolutely there's an H at the end! Fast forward to 2017 my experience was left a VM granted she talked superfast but as I stopped and go while I listened I clearly heard her say she was calling from 211, please call back to discuss helping you with your Peoples Gas bill! Number 1, I never ever contacted 211 in my liife. I do not need any help whatsoever with my gas utility bill,Number 2. I did look up 211 says it is United Way, however I do not believe it for a second ,because the 211 website had many charity businesses with their contact information, I recognized five numbers that has been blocked on my phomfn months. I was receiving multiple texts from St Vincent DePaul, and Salvatoo Army yes these and other on 211 website are legit business, but their contacf info was different from the legit contacf info. The texts I received from211 was flat out harassing, they were spam phishing texts without a doubt! . I created a contact to the fake text numbers and block them, this went on for well over a month!! 100% this number is unsafe went from Highmark to 211 ... AVOID... It is a SCAM !!!
