Call from 415-738-7504 a bit after 7pm EST. "Left a message", but there was no content to the message (ended call in process of leaving the message).I called the name back and it was a woman named Linda's voicemail. I did not leave a message for her.
On March 31, at 7:00pm EDT, I received a call on my cell phone from this number, answered, and the person said "I understand you want to make extra income."I told him that I had no idea what he was talking about, he claimed that I had requested info through a website, but I never did. After some prodding, he told me he was calling for ITB (International Travel Brokers). When I tried to get more info, he became belligerent then said, "Well, I guess you don't want to make any extra money, [***]!" and then hung up. I called the number back and got some woman's voicemail, which gave a different phonenumber in her message.I did some googling and found the following info for ITB:International Travel Brokers76 Gough StSan Francisco, CA 94102 mapcross street: Haight St.district: Cole Valley/Ashbury HeightsTel. +1 415.243.0233I called the listed number and spoke to a very nice man who was shocked that someone was making calls claiming to be representing his company. He sounded sincere and I believe that he truly had no knowledge of these calls taking place.I would suggest that anyone else getting these calls should call ITB as well (unless the person claims to be from another company) and let them know what is happening in their name.
I received the same call from apparently the same jerk claiming to be with ITB. The same number had shown up earlier on my caller ID but no one was on the line when I answered. He had my email address and first name and claimed I had requested information from his company, which I had not done. I called ITB at the number listed in a previous post and told the person who answered. He said he was going to contact the phone company and the police.
After I told the man not to call me, he said he would call back in 10 minutes. Then, about 10 minutes later, the phone rang showing an unknown number, and a different person was on the line, asked for me by my first name, and wouldn't tell me who they were, said they were a "secret admirer" to which they got an earful and then I hung up. Does anyone know who you report phone harassment to?
I am a senior in high school and I noticed a missed call from that number. I googled it the following class period and about passed out when I saw this forum. I am seriously kind of creeped out by this whole situation. I think the real company needs to call the number and talk with them or something. Anyone have any other suggestions?
did they call you on your cell phone?that is how he contacted me and since i was in school i couldn't answer....if he asks for me by name, and calls me again, i think i will have a heart attack.
ok....so....I just received another call from the company. It was a woman named "Kathy" and I swear if she calls me "dear" one more time she will be getting more of an earful then she already got. She informed me that supposedly I had imputed my name, phone number, and email address into something and she was calling to see if I was still interested in surveys or something. I told her that people from her "company" have been calling many people and everyone is getting irritated with them. She told me she would put me on their national no call list and i informed her i already was. She told me, "Dear, when you put your phone number or email address on the world wide web, you are going to get emails and popups." I then informed her NOT to call me dear ever again. After I hung up on her, I googled my email address and cell phone number....neither of which come up with any results. My friend then called the number, but it rang a couple times then went to "Linda's" voice mail. What is going on here....I haven't the slightest clue.
