Human left a voicemail about needing my updated mailing address for Combined Insurance. I used to have plans with them, so it could be legit, or it could be spear phishing. They left a callback number 18882344466
Silence for long time in the beginning. Then in very unclear voice, Claimed they are calling from Optima Communications on behalf of Scotiabank.
Very annoying. This number has been calling everyday for the past two weeks, never leaves a message.
Did it help? Being retired, I get to see who's calling & this number (along with others) comes up often & I can't shake them. I don't answer any number that I don't recognize. I have found texting them helps sometimes. It helps to be impolite after the first few texts are unsuccessful.

I received a call from this number today (mar 3,2010 @ 3:46 P.M) and they didn't leave a message with me neither
Received a call at 6:19PM March 8th. When I answered the phone started ringing as if I had made a phone call. Man asked for my husband. I told him this is my cell phone number. He said my cell phone number was the main phone number on file for ATB Financial and I needed to get my husband to call and update our phone number. When I asked if it was a sales call or if there was something wrong with our account he mumbled something about Manulife coverage. I asked if my husband should change our phone number then call him back and he said no, he'd call us back. When I called ATB, the lady I spoke to asked their marketing department about it and was told they would only contact us about products we already have with them. Also, ATB is located in Alberta only and the phone number is a Toronto area code. When I call the number it goes to Optima Communications International contact centre.
Isn't optima related to Shoppers and their financial institution regarding the shoppers card. ( if Shoppers and Optima are not related then the following is just my experience with the insurance sales man) I received a call regarding buying insurance on the outstanding balance of the new card. He had a foreign accent and worded everything so a person could say yes to what he was saying without actually wanting the insurance. Since the calls are recorded, you may say yes and get something you didn't bargain for.
