They say they are calling from AT&T, but the phone number is not an AT&T phone number. They say they see that you have multiple services through AT&T and think they can get you better rates.Actually, with a little Googling you can find that they are actually a 3rd party company called Sunrise Communications. According to posts found when Googling, they will lie to you to get your information to switch you to another company or to commit fraud.Be careful before providing personal or any financial information to people who call you. You cannot verify that they actually are who they say they are.
Caller claimed to be "calling on behalf of AT&T". I asked to be removed from their calling list and hung up.
Caller identified himself as "Adam calling on behalf of AT&T" wanted to speak with the person in charge of the mobile account. I told him no thank you and hung up. Getting too many calls like this.
How they get away with this cannot be legal.They are a 3rd party company reselling AT&T services.That would be ok, but they specifically state they ARE AT&T which is a false claim.
I was stupid enough to believe them for about a minute. Then they asked for my employer ID number. Of course, I refused and hung up. Now blocked.
Yes, they're still at it. Claiming to be AT&T until I asked him to hold on while I checked his number on "800 NOTES"!I wonder why he hung up?
This is a lie! They don't switch you to a different company. They are contracted by at&t. Otherwise at&t corporate wouldn't be coming in the office for meetings. You should probably check your facts before you slander someone
I had the same phone call from this number, but was provided a call back number of 855-715-0624. After reading through these posts, I am positive that this is a scam. I spoke with "Adam" and he asked to speak with the holder of the account, I let him know they were unavailable. When I asked to take his call back info, he then asked to speak with anyone else who could help him. I inquired as to what this was regarding, he stated it was confidential and could only tell the AT&T holder, yet, he had just asked to speak with someone else when I let him know they were unavailable...sketchy.
This number called this morning. It sounded like the lady said is was Chase calling for AT&T. This immediately raised my suspicions because I couldn't figure out why Chase Bank would be calling and promoting AT&T services. After asking me how I was and making the opening spiel about trying to lower our phone rates, I told her that our company doesn't discuss that over the phone because there's too many scammers. She then asked what we did if we wanted to update our AT&T services, so I told her we'd call them directly. After trying again unsuccessfully to sway me, I told her again we don't discuss our phone service over the phone, asked to be placed on her do not call list, and then I hung up.
Just got a call. They hung up when I answered. FYI, AT&T has farmed out their "customer service" to a lot of contractors, primarily individuals that work from home and don't know squat! For at least the last five years, every time I have talked to someone, they have screwed up my service or bill. Keep on your toes in dealing with them.
