Called meat 10 AM I'm from Virginia and was familiar with the Charlottesville area code right away but I do not know anyone from there anymore. Just knew it was a wrong number or just someone I did not want to talk to, to make my Monday go any worse

Received it on my cell phone which I never give out. I did not call back.

Received a call from this number (434-234-0092) today (7/6/2015) at 12:45 pm. ID says it's from Virginia. Don't know anybody in Virginia nor do business with anyone out there. Didn't recognize the number so I let it go to voicemail. Surprise, no voicemail left. Just you're typical cold calling scammer. Going on my phone's auto-reject list.

I called back too and press 1 to be added to the do not call list. To my surprise and delight those numerous, daily calls finally stopped after their 48 business hours processing time.

These types of callers are scammers. They do not subscribe to the national Do Not Call list nor do they obey federal regulations about how and when to appropriately call people.As for them getting your phone number, that can happen in a multitude of ways. Have they ever shared your phone number with someone on social media? Or entered it in a form or site online when applying for or participating in something? Ever filled out one of those contest flyers or sweepstakes to win a prize? Ever used it to order something online or by phone? Have you shopped at Target, Home Depot, or any other of the hundreds of stores that get hacked and lose consumer data to cyber criminals yearly? Anytime you share your phone with someone else, regardless of the media you used, it's prone to being obtained by someone else, either by the person or company selling your data to them or losing it in a hack/data breach.

They called area code 228 cell phone and did not leave message.

Scam scam scam to lower your credit card interest rate. I got this recording again today. Take heed of what other posters say about this.

I thought that this group had been shut down. I haven't heard from Heather or Rachel from Card Services in quit awhile. Not it is Charlotte from Charlottesville, VA and she is with consumer services. SOSO. Please inform all of your friends! My sister-in-law is extremely smart but, not when it comes to telephones. I tried explaining spoofing to her. The scammers can use any name they want to show up on your caller i.d. including your own. She thought robo calls were only calls where they used your name on the caller i.d. She even called back a number last week because they were looking for someone who'se name sounds similar to her own. I have told her to not even answer the phone unless she knows the person calling. Do not touch any buttons. If you touch a 2 to be put on their do not call list they will just call you more. Even if it sounds like a legitimate charity. That happened to me last week. A charity called. It didn't sound right to me, looked it up and it's phony.
