Scotia bank fraud Dept calling about a change to my account
Received two calls in April 2016 from this number. Caller ID indicated Scotiabank. I called the bank. This is not a number associated with their services, nor my branch. No indication of ownership online. However if you call it the voice-message indicates that Scotiabank tried to call me from a standard IVR. Very strange
If you didn't already during your first call to the actual Scotiabank, you should consider letting them know someone may be impersonating them for the possible purpose of fraud. The legitimate bank will have a fraud services department that will investigate the number and take legal action if needed.
It is scoitbank bank I didn't call the number they asked me to call it called the number on my card and sure enough someone used my visa in another country
I did receive a call from this number this morning, it was automated and said someone had used my credit card. I hung up since I didn't know the number and called the scotiabank, they confirmed it was a call from them and in the meantime that number called back so with someone on the line so I spoke to them. they called as my credit card was being used in new york, I live on the west coast of canada! the number is legit.
I called Scotiabank....they do not know this number and no fraud on my card....this number is a SCAM!!!!
At first i received that call and it was automated. Then i shut off my phone and called Scotia to see if it was them. They said no. Then i receive that same number calling me. So i decide not to answer thinking its fraud. Then they actually left me a 1-800 # to call and it is Scotia Visa theft security #. They asked me if i booked a hotel in Kansas, in USA. I told them no, and i'm at work. So this is a Scotia #
This is a real Scotiabank number. We had sent an email to their head office, because of a concern we had. They called us from this number to discuss the email with us.
This is a real Scotiabank number. I had a call this morning, didn't recognize the number, ignored it. It kept calling for the rest of the hour and I finally answered it. Someone had used my credit card. The caller asked me no personal information and sorted out the issue by sending a new card to my local branch.
