Clearly someone has gained access to Telus and Rogers cell phone databases, as all of us in our office have received this call and are on these networks (there are probably more). None of us have our cell numbers listed anywhere.
Kamloops BC. here too. Called my cell, didn't answer, no VM left. I am personally reserving the right for myself and my family to ignore these calls, or crank up the MP3 player straight into the phone & hang up--whatever the mood calls for.We used to get telemarketers calling almost every day. De-listing the line from the phonebook didn't do a lot of good, so we started blasting MP3 players into the phone and the calls dropped dramatically. If it became common practice to blow a horn/whatever into the phone, I'd bet these a******s would end up throwing their money to the wind almost every time. Turn the tables people! Be creative but legal!
Another hit in Kamloops, luckily I didn't answer it because I am at work.My guess is that they just try every possible number combination in a specific area code.
I just received a phone call from this number and didn't recognize the area code or number and of course i just ignored it. Calgary, AB
This # called both of my cell phones and all the cell phones in my office in a matter of minutes. Clearly Telus and Rogers (and probably more providers) have had their databases compromised, as none of us have these numbers listed anywhere.
I got a call on my home phone today from this number as well as a call to my cell phone. My husband and my best friend each got a call both on cells and at my friends home number. It is very strange as we all got the calls today. I did press 1 and told them to stop calling me. I think I will call the phone company and see if I just let someone use my number for long distance or something? Very creepy and very strange. What are the chances that 3 people that know each other got calls to their home phone and cell phones in the same day?
