t's a valid number. The company is Macy's and they call to verify that ordered placed using your address/credit card were actually placed by you.Macy's is being pro-active about stopping fraud. So be happy people and stop whining.Also, they call regardless of whether you have a Macy's card or not ! If someone placed an order using your information and Macy's thinks the order is suspicious, they will call.I placed two orders online at macys.com using an American Express card. So I received two calls asking me to confirm I placed the orders.

This is Macy's and they are calling to verify your information in regards to your card or a purchase made to your card. Just my experience. They called to verify the email I was sending a e-gift card to and before I even said the complete email address he finished off the rest "hotmail.com" and that was exactly right so he was legit. I was waiting for him to ask to verify my credit card number and that's when I would have hung up and reported them in to the authorities. You can call your local Attorney General's Office to report fraudulent and scam callers. Help everyone stay safe from world wide thieves.
