well i got my first call today and I called back and got a person....i asked them to remove my number and they said they will.
I believe my contacts can be traced to the recent Byron Nelson golf tournament. I registered for some a give away of some calaway clubs.
Okay, I scheduled my trip. It took a while to find a date that would work for me, but i got my confirmation paperwork today. I had to pay a refundable deposit, but she said that I will get that back when I check in.
Have been getting calls from this number for the last month. When I answer there is a noise like a fax number. These calls are to my cell phone and I'm being billed minutes.
I replied to a mailing and went to the sales talk to get the free trip from Southern Journeys of Texas in November 2008. I ignored all the sales talk and waited through the 2-3 hours to get my trip. Mailed in a deposit check and all the info for the free trip and never received anything. Tried calling all the numbers and if they weren't disconnected, they claimed to have to relationship to the people who gave me the offer. I'm not sure now if they ever cashed my $50 deposit check or not. They had me make it out to "Spirit Incentives".I am usually very good at jumping through all the hoops to get free offers, but they got me on this one
It's not a timeshare! Did you really go to the presentation? They state that right away! And yes, the free trip is legit. Bottom line is that is does save tons of money - yeah you have to book way in advance...so. There are fees associated, but even with the fees - it saves a lot on hotel rates alone.
Paying $1900. In the first 2 months toward the principal removes the interest completely. That would take almost $6,000. off of the total - now run the numbers. Big difference.
It's not just Home Depot - anyplace that you write down your phone number, address, email, etc... Is going to sell it. (this includes online forms). Buying and selling personal information is a multi-million dollar business. They are called "Leads". Bottom line, if you don't fill out anything requesting your personal info...ever...you won't have this issue. Sometimes there are pages online you just can't get past without entering an email, if that's the case then set up a second email for "junk". That way your personal email doesn't get bombarded with "offers".
