you have no clue how the do not call registry works do you? Legitimate companies subscribe to the list and prevent their telemarketers from calling people on the DNC list or face escalating fines for each violation. Scam artists so not give a rat's butt about the DO not call registry. most of the numbers are spoofed and they count on the fact that most people will whine on these boards and not report them to the FTC.

Paranoid much? Your conspiracy theory has no basis in fact.

These f'ing scam artists called my DNC listed landline today at 1321 hours with an illegal message about senior citizens falling, being killed, robbed, etc. and that a "free" medic alert system has already been paid for - the shipping too! - and I should wait on the line to confirm my address. I know I shouldn't have but this was the third scam artist calling me today so I couldn't resist. I waited. It took two minutes before some guy came on. I made him repeat his company name, USA Alert, (Yeah, sure it is, a'hole.) Then I told snarled into the phone that he was a scam artist preying on senior citizens, told him what he could do with himself, and then blew my emergency whistle into the phone. These scam artist spoof local numbers to trick people into answering their calls. I blocked my number and called the number back. No answer. Apparently they don't answer calls from blocked numbers because they know the caller is onto them.

Is preying on the young OK???

Yeah, I know. I was having a stupendously bad day. Haha, I do read like a nutter. My dog, Snoop Dogg, has been really sick & on particular day I had been waiting to hear from our vet, couldn't do shite until I heard from the clinic & we waited, hoping for a lm cancellation call. Every *un*wanted call tied up my lines. I was fed up with the world, I'm still fed up with the whole effin' world (so much stupid, so little room, right ?) Oh My Gosh, Jesse. Does that mean that all the time I've spent hiding in my little, furniture-less room, blinds drawn, biting my nails to the bone, has been wasted ? Ease up buddy boy, I was having a bad day. At least I wasn't screaming out loud (writing in all caps) begging the invisible robo-callers, who we all know check in regularly to see how we feel about their calling us, to stop calling us. BTW In case you haven't figured it out yet, no one with the power to do anything about it will ever take measures to stop this bazillion dollar business. Therefore, there really is only one answer to this dilemma and that is to stop answering. Just Say No To Answering The Phone.

You should have faked a falling- over - heart- attack , the kind you hear on the TV and tell him from the background it's from the terror he caused which was invoked by his call - then begged him to call an ambulance.
