It is a call from Texas Workforce Commission. I work for a CPA firm and they called to ask a question about one of my clients. No fraud call.

Received a phone call from this number. She left the voice message, asking to call back the different number. She wanted to ask some question for the file, but the name she mentioned wasn't me. She said it's from Veterans Plan Board (?).

This is an internal number at the Texas Workforce Commission. Callers can dial out on it, but call recipients cannot re-dial to get an answer.

I am expecting a call back from TX state rep Lynn Stuckey but they left no message. Odd that they wouldn't use his office number so I would recognize who is calling. At a minimum, they could leave a message.

This number belongs to the VETERANS LAND BOARD COMISSION. Helps with home loans land loans and other services to veterans.....

This number is like the old outgoing WATS or Texxan phone lines that state government agencies or state universities used for their outgoing calls. They would call out (saving money since it was bundled), but you couldn't call back using your caller ID of missed calls. Outgoing only. When you did try to ring back, you would either get a continuous ring, a busy signal, or a Disconnected message. The number that you saw on your ID could be used to service multiple state agencies at the same time. Mystery solved!

512-427-9057 was a legitimate call from the Texas State Board of Pharmacy. The caller left a voice message and a direct number to call her back.

I BELIEVE I have found the answer to who this number belongs to. Read further comments.I recently filed a claim with Texas Insurance Commissioner. My adjuster called me on this number and did not id herself and I could not hear her. She got upset because I couldn't hear her and hung up on me.I did some further investigation and found out that apparently whenever you call a TEXAS STATE OFFICE and someone calls you from the phone that is on thier desk (which is a personal line for that person) thier phone calls go out thru what used to be called a "WATTS" line. I'm not sure what "WATTS" stands for but it is a generic number for everyone who calls from any TEXAS STATE OFFICE. You can call the number the # back and you will get that it has been disconnected. If you have filed a claim with any TEXAS STATE AGENCY and they call you this is the number that will show up. It is a 'protection' for the person who is calling you so that they don't get harassing calls. If you get a call from this number, stop and think if you have called any TEXAS STATE AGENCY and then call the person you have been dealing with on the phone num. you have for them or on the toll free number for that agency (if you don't know your adjuster/agent who is handling your file) and ask to speak to whomever is handling your file and I am sure you will find out once you speak to that person that they did in fact call you. However, they don't know that when they call you that a different number shows up on your caller ID. They are under the assumption that a toll free number or thier personal # shows up on your phone along with the name of the agency they are calling from. However that is not the case. Everytime they call someone from thier personal line you will get 512-427-9057 on your caller id which is not a valid number. It is a phony number/generic num that is not listed to anyone person or agency.So, if you get a call from this no. call whatever TEXAS STATE office/agent that you may be dealing with (ie: Ins Commissioner, TEA, TX Workforce Commission, etc.) and you will find that it is the person who is handling your acct that has called you. The 512-427-9057 is like a giant party line (that doesn't really exist) for outgoing calls only.
