This may have been a scam call. No message left. I did not answer.
Received phone call from 512-547-1244 claiming to be dept of treasury with a legal case against me with a heavy. Telemarketing accent and said his name was Eric
Received multiple calls each day for several days from 512-547-1244 claiming to be "Michael Johnson" (with a heavy Asian Indian accent). He said he was from the department of the treasury and had a case against me and that if I didn't respond quickly charges would be filed and I could lose everything. Needless to say, I did not return the call.
Ditto here, some Asian Indian sounding male, Eric Elson?, has left me two threatening messages concerning pending legal action from the US Department of Treasury. To many parts don't sound correct to me. I am attempting to contact the Dept. of Treasury to report this fraudulent action.
SCAM SCAM SCAM-IF YOU GET A CALL FROM THIS NUMBER, CALL THE FRAUD DEPT. THIS IS A SCAM AND REPORT IT TO AS MANY PUBLIC AUTHORITIES AS POSSIBLE!!! ASIAN SOUNDING ACCENT. I WAS TOLD I WAS BEING SUED BY THE DEPT OF TREASURY!!! I SPOKE WITH THE DEPT OF FRAUD,GENERAL ATTORNEY'S OFFICE AND THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION IN TEXAS AND THEY ARE GOING TO INVESTIGATE!!! I received a call from som claining to be fro the IRS legal affairs name Eric 512-547-1244 He is stating I need to call right away as I have legal matters against me. I am calling the IRS to confirm Eric or is this is a scam
Heavily accented man called today from 512-547-1244. He kept telling me that I was going to be named in a lawsuit and I needed to call 512-547-1244. I tried to ask who was suing me and why but he would only interrupt me and tell me to be quiet and let him finish. Very strange! He couldn't tell me anything but I needed to call the same number that he called me from to get the information. I told him that he was a dumbass and I was going to report him. Then I hung up. lol He hasn't called again but I've read where he called some people many times. Is this perhaps the scam where if you call them back it charges you....somehow? I'm not understanding what he's getting in this deal.
indian sounding man with an accent left message that he was calling from the Department of Legal Affairs and that I had a legal pending matter and that it was important that I call back at 512-547-1277.SCAMdon't call back but do file a fraud complaint with your state's attorney general.
March 14, 2014At 8:30 am A person masquerading as a U.S. Treasury Agent called our home. Richard, my husband received the call and told him to call my cell.I missed initial call as was on phone w/Richard. I returned the call to #512.547-1244 at 8:35 am.It was answered by (India accent) Keith Nelson a person representing the U.S.Treasury, He agreed to call me on the landline. He called said we had reported to IRS improperly in 2010, they had sent us three notices and now my husband was going to be arrested today and held for six months without bail. He said, even though we file jointly, Richard was the responsible person as he makes more money than me. I insisted we had received nothing. Eventually Keith Nelson said that he believed me and that he would be able to prevent the warrant if I paid the amount today, I would need to stay on this phone call, not disconnect as the warrant would then be electronically generated. He said we owed $2,846.31. He instructed me to drive home and get my debit card while he remained on my phone line. I would then drive to walmart to purchase "tax voucher" at that time I would be talking to Investigating Officer Paul Lemore, he would give me the address in Washington DC where the payment would be sent. All the while I was to remain connected via cell phone.I was able to place a call to my Tax Preparer/Enrolled Agent during this phone call. My EA said it was a scam that the statute of limitation was not terminated for 2010 and we have no notice from IRS regarding any problem. I hung up on the supposed Treasury Agent Keith Nelson.I have spent the last 2 hours trying to contact a human being in the Treasury Dept to no avail.I think the public should know about this, my husband has a heart condition and this has upset him and myself greatly.I did file a police report with Sacramento City Police
