It's from Neilsen. They're calling to ask if I mailed back the radio survey. Sure did. Made an easy $30. Looking forward for more survey opportunities!
I have begun receiving these calls regularly. I thought we had it bad until I read some of the other posts here. Apparently, there is no police help even though I consider these calls harassing in nature. The people are pushy and belligerent. I find it hard to believe that a company as well know as Nielsen would engage in such tactics. They are offering consideration for a service, which I think would define them as telemarketing calls. My number is on the National Do Not Call registry- little as that helps. It makes me angry that I pay state, local, and federal taxes on my service and not one level of government will prosecute them. I have considered buying a police whistle to keep by the phone so that the telemarketers will get an ear full when they call. I have no problem making crooks miserable.
Foreign speaking gal, said she is from Nielsen, started asking questions. CLICK, BYE BYE.Jokers
Don't bother with a whistle or a air horn; you will hurt your ears more than you will hurt the caller's ears.
Nielsen is a radio & TV ratings company. In the last 3 days, they have been blanketing my area with mail ads and phone calls. If you get one by mail, be sure to open it before discarding it, as it may have a couple of genuine dollar bills included. Don't feel obligated to reply just because of that -- isn't your time worth more than two dollars? Nielsen wants to buy data so they can resell it for a very large markup. Don't give them anything they can use -- either ignore them or make up some fake data. They deserve it.
Whoa, everyone calm down. Nielsen is a reputable company. Whenever you see or hear about tv or radio or movie ratings, this is the company that handles this. They are a survey company, and it's what they do. They aren't fake, they aren't sending fake money, and all you need to do is tell them you don't want them to call you anymore. They are, however, sending REAL cash. AKA every time you rip up mail from them, you're shredding actual money. I actually enjoy taking these surveys and have received about $10 so far (I only just started taking them, but hey, FREE MONEY from a legitimate company).
I have better things to do without having to answer unwanted calls. My phone is for personal use only. Please stop calling me.
Called after 9:30 two nights in a row. I have them blocked. What gives them the right to call after 9:00 at night? Scam for sure.
Just got a mailing and two calls from Nielsen. A buck or two is not worth my time. The sad truth is that few people listen to radio in 2017. It -- like newspapers -- is yet another form of media devastated by the internet. Sadder still are antique marketing research firms like Nielsen, Scarborough and Arbitron: Relics from the 20th century whose executives still think it's 1985 and who are oblivious that the world's media habits have changed.
