I just received a call from (518) 444-2217. As I answered the call knowing that it was a "telemarketer" or "scammer", I was immediately welcomed by an automated voice saying, "Hello and thank you for calling. Please listen carefully as our menu has changed. You may have won a $100 Walmart gift card. Please press '1' to speak to a service representative." So, I did. I spoke with "LaTanya" who immediately asked for my name. When I told her she should know my name since she called me, she got PISSED! She said that I was entered to receive a $100 Walmart gift card through a purchase that I had made. When I asked what that purchase was, she said that the Privacy Act of 1989 would not allow her to tell me that and that she obeys all laws enacted by the government and her company. I asked her what company she worked for. She said "Marketing Solutions". I told her that I was looking the company up on the internet. She said, "Ma'am, I do not have to sit here and wait while you look up the company that I work for and see whatever it is you want to see." I asked her to hold on for a second. She said, "NO!" I told her that I would only be another minute. I told her that if she wanted my name, she could wait a minute. She said, "Just call back if you want your gift card", and then, hung up on me. :)I love messing with these people.
I just got a call from this number. Do not answer or call back. THIS IS A SCAM. They are looking for personal info.
Got a call from this number today, phone said NY call. Didnt answer and didnt leave a message - looked it up and found this site. Just dont answer it guys....or do what the girl above did and give them a big hassle :)
