Receive phone calls from this number at least 3-4 times a day. Never leave a message when answering machine picks up. It's really annoying.
Often these calls are cold calls, meaning they didn't get your number anywhere. They just dial down a list with your area code like 555-0000, 555-0001, 555-0002, etc. Using this method they hit unlisted callers too.I simply do not respond to these calls in any way except to tell my cellphone to be "quiet" - not to "ignore" the call, which cuts the call off/hangs up, because I don't want the caller to know this is a "live" numbers. My "quiet" button just lets the caller ring until they hang but I don't hear the ringing anymore. Ah, peace. In this way, I never get a second call from the same spammer.Nuisance calls as a whole are on the rise in my area; I get 1 a week on average. Never pick up the phone - no matter what, when they discover a "live" number it is flagged for further annoyance and you are considered a potential fish for them to hook. They don't waste much of my time because I don't let them, but if I'm bored I may come here to look the number up to see if the call is worth reporting to the FCC.
3 days in a row Princeton data called asking me to take a survey. I am tired of saying no. Next time I am filing a complaint with my Attorney Generals office
Princeton Data Services, LLCResarch Department:Contact: Samantha Daugherty, VP of Operations540-898-8818 ext 3010I just called an left a message that I get calls from this number 3 x a day and I will continue to leave messages for her 3 x a dayI think we should all do this
Hello, I used to work for this company. It was honest work that helped me get through college debt free and I got yelled at on a daily basis. I feel there are a few things people should know...-These surveys are for legit research. Many of the research that is provided through the surveys is stuff that you read about in the newspaper or hear about on the news. It provides statistics that help gauge important issues in the nation and also supplies statistics to companies that you buy items from everyday.-While some of the surverys are lengthy (imagine having to read the same long survey over and over each night), you do have the option to ask for a call back to continue the rest of the survey. Also, it goes a lot faster if you let the person read every question completely so that they don't have to repeat it since it is required that the whole question is asked to ensure the right answer is chosen.-Because the surveys are done for non-profit research, the Do Not Call List does not apply to Princeton Data Source. They are not trying to sell you anything, they are just trying to get your opinion on certain issues. If you can take time to give your opinion to a friend, you have time to do a survey.-The phone calls are randomly generated. Which means the caller knows nothing about you and even though your number is "unlisted", it is still printed in the national dialer.-If you want to get your name taken off their "list", politely tell them to take you off their "list" and they will. One of the stipulations to be taken off the dialer is that the respondent needs to mention being taken off the "list". Even if you mention being on the Do Not Call List, they will continue calling because they are not affiliated with telemarketers and the Do Not Call List.-Most of all, be nice to them. They are people too. They make slightly more than minimum wage and are struggling just like millions of other Americans. Most of the people were like me, they just had the job as income until they finished school.-The cut off time for calls on every time zone is 9pm. After then, the calls are stopped for that time zone. Say someone that lived in California and has a California phone number moved to Virginia, they would still be called after 9pm Virginia time because their phone number was in the California time zone. All you need to do is politely inform them that you live on the East Coast and they will call you at a more convenient time.I hope you all will take this into consideration before you yell at a Telephone Research Interviewer.
*Thanks to "cb" and entry dated Dec. 30, 2007 for the caller's info! They work from a list but don't research who they're calling, called our county office and asked by name for our Director of Human Services, would be like calling a company and asking for the C.E.O. to try and sell something over the phone...Duh! Very cute, a surveyer calling from Princeton...just imagine, a big university calling to survey us...nice try.
