We all need to call our phone company and threaten to stop our service if they do not STOP CALLER ID SPOOFING. Also, call your legislators and complain to them. Ask them to sponsor a bill making CALLER ID SPOOFING A CRIME
Darn, first cantaloupe recalled, now bogus phone calls. If fruit can be recalled, why can't the Gov. protect our privacy?Or should I say why don't they? Together, maybe we can find a solution
I've received two other phone calls in regards to extending my vehicle warrenty. The first time I asked to be removed, I was told it would take 78 hours, the second time, I got a phone call from 1-909-842-8134, was told I would be taken off immediately, the third time, was today, and when I asked to be removed, was told it would take 7-10 business days! Omigosh! Are you kidding me?! This is ridiculous. 3 times I have been hung up on, and 3 times, they have kept talking over top of me!
Jaime M Hawley spoke with on March 2, 2012 after being strong-armed and totally "lead on" by a sales person Andrew Pressland (although I'm not sure if that is his real name) then transferred me to Jaime in "verification dpt" (now here was the time I should have said no) but was getting tired and went along. She was going to set up a telephone appt) Later, I became uneasy and my mother's words kept coming back to me "When in doubt,DON'T! And if it seems too good to be true it's probably not true! Called on Monday to speak with Andrew and told him I didn't want to do this, he became angry, talking over me, said he could not help with refunding the 695.00 which was put on one of my cc's and rudely hung up. Later that day, "tod" called me to assure that I would not be charged and when I asked how they made money, he admitted that it was in the charge put on my cc. 3/2/12 I cancelled my cards and called the BBB they have a "c" rating, with 42 commplaints within the last 36 months and someone named Chris Miano was the owner of business, but have found many more names up their food chain. Just don't take any calls from this co. is truly a scam!
11:07AM -To lower my credit card interest rate-recorded message. Called back-# disconected already.
The following levels the playing field a bit:As stated earlier, the company behind these calls is IXE Accelerated Financial Services, and they have a toll-free number: 1-888-226-5185.Call this number from a public (i.e., pay) phone booth to voice your concerns multiple times. They have to pay significantly (over $0.50 per call) each they pick up because they have to reimburse the pay phone company on top of their regular phone bills! This gets their attention. Ask them to remove your number. It's gratifying to know that they have to pay more than $0.50 to hear your concerns, and that you can make them pay more if they continue to harass you.UPDATE: This solution was posted on another site yesterday, to which the scammers answered that they could block the payphone number from which you called by pressing *67. This proves that they are getting anxious from the thought that all of you will be calling them. And sombody else posted a great response to the scammers' answer: "when you block one pay phone number, we can always go to another one, then another...".Summarizing: calling the 1-888 number from a pay phone to voice your concern them doesn't cost you a penny, but you make them pay over $0.50 and that gets their attention.
561-482-7092, came thru as being out of Boca Raton Florida, wasn't home when they called , left no message . When I called back recording said number was not in service or had been disconnected...Heres another number to watch out for 302-694-9988, Caller ID said it was from Delaware, when i answered it was a recording in spanish of a woman, i googled it and saw some responses. some were to be charged $ 99.00, some said it came from Mexico City, and so on. just Google it and check out the complaints ..whew!!!!!!!!!
Today, 04-16-2008 at 2:14pm, we received a phone call from 516-482-7092. When our answering machine started playing, a female voice started speaking over our announcement (not waiting for the beep) stating that there was "a concern relating to your credit card account" and that nothing was wrong, but to "press 1 if you want a better interest rate," bla bla bla. I'm pretty convinced this is a credit card phishing fraud.
This sounds good. It has worked, yes? What can you do after this? Who can you call to have some action taken against them? I am certain it is a scam, but what is to be done next, if you can this far?Is there any evidence tht it is being run out of Fla other than a reverse lookup? Have you ever gotten a name and location?
