I just got one more of these darn calls where no one says anything.

They called again and left a message, but as mortgage specialists dealing with home repairs.

This is a spoofed number. They use a spoof card or Caller ID falsification tool. I know some people that do skip tracing for collections and they have a little box that looks just like a regular caller id box but they are able to enter/program in whatever number they want to appear on their target's caller id. It's a great tool if you want to piss people off, but a real annoyance for the rest of us.The best thing you can do, in my experience, is to play along with the salesman (if it's a recording, play along until you find a way to get to a live person or get contact info for the co.). Be reluctant at first, but then make them feel like they are succeeding in their pitch and you want to participate. Go along with it as long as necessary to get the actual name of the company, a mailing address, or a contact number. If you're really patient or have the time, once their done, tell them they've done a great job and that you really appreciate doing business with them. Ask them if there is any way for you to let the higher ups know what a good job they've done so they can get some recognition- maybe talk to a supervisor, email a quick note to the sales mgr, send a letter, etc., and also get their contact info because you know someone you might want to refer to them. If they get you to a supervisor, they've let their guard down. Get the supervisors name and then let 'em have it.This is how I've taken care of the majority of these types of knuckleheads.Good luck.--Mike

They wanted to reduce my interest rate to as low as 6.9%. I pressed 1 to talk to someone, asked who they were calling on behalf of, and she said it was Financial Services. I promptly hung up because I refuse to take offers from anyone who does not identify themselves as my credit card company immediately and speak to me by name automatically.

Mine is on Monster too, but not the other you mentioned. Could this be the common thread?

Missed this call from William Pierstoff. I hit call-back immediately and was told he did not make any calls today. I called again from my 800# listing of incoming calls and reached a woman who claimed the same!

Got a call today from this number....was recorded about the warranty on my vehicle...i just hung up

I never use to get any calls from solicitors, but now, it's crazy. this # keeps popping up on my cell phone at least 2x a day. Where else do we report such nonsense?

I am on the do not call list. This number calls at least twice a day..How do I stop them..

Jaime M Hawley spoke with on March 2, 2012 after being strong-armed and totally "lead on" by a sales person Andrew Pressland (although I'm not sure if that is his real name) then transferred me to Jaime in "verification dpt" (now here was the time I should have said no) but was getting tired and went along. She was going to set up a telephone appt) Later, I became uneasy and my mother's words kept coming back to me "When in doubt,DON'T! And if it seems too good to be true it's probably not true! Called on Monday to speake with Andrew and told him I didn't want to do this, he became angry, talking over me, said he could not help with refunding the 695.00 which was put on one of my cc's and rudely hung up. Later that day, "tod" called me to assure that I would not be charged and when I asked how they made money, he admitted that it was in the charge put on my cc. 3/2/12 I cancelled my cards and called the BBB they have a "c" rating, with 42 commplaints within the last 36 months and someone named Chris Miano was the owner of business, but have found many more names up their food chain. Just don't take any calls from this co. is truly a scam!
