Of course received same e-mails verbatim. Our ad was for the 2008 Harley Trike also. Anyone who is trying to sell things for thousands of dollars should learn to use correct grammar and punctuation. That was honestly my first flag and then of course I googled every number "Daphne Andrews" gave to me and found the hundreds of scam posts. We're in the Waco Tx area and saw the ad on Craigslist. It was only posted for a few hours and then was pulled. So very thankful I thoroughly checked up on everything so we weren't one of the ones who actually lost money. No one is obviously following through on this investigation because with the bank accounts being given they should be able to track who the owners are eventually. Sincerely hope they are caught.
She is back at it again. This time, it is a 2010 Ford F150 SVT Raptor advertised on autotrader.com and other classified websites. The truck was supposed to be in Atlanta, but the phone number listed is a Texas number and nobody answered when I called. Here is the email I received: Hi aj,Thank you for showing interest in my 2010 Ford F-150 Raptor! The general condition of the truck is excellent, very well maintained, no damages, no mechanical problems and no electrical issues. It has a clear title free of any liens or loans and a clean carfax, free of accidents. The mileage is 9,700 and the price is $17,800.Because of my divorce settlement, i own this truck and as a woman without driver`s license i don`t need it so i`m trying to get rid of it as soon as possible.I just got a new job and moved so get back with me to organize this sale.Thank You!
I guess we all have to learn the saying “if it is too good to be true it probably is”I actually spoke with the [***] and the voice sounded like Nigerian person talking in English got me suspicious (no offense for the true honest Nigerian-American people but we all know about those other scams), so I started checking my Paypal account reviewing the polices about protection for your purchases and I found out you wont be protected on vehicles purchase (car, trucks boats), after that I found this log to be 100% sure of the scam. She also goes by Teresa Carrillo and they publish in the San Antonio Express newspaper online a 2004 Toyota Tacoma for $4600.She wrote the same story about the divorce by e-mail. She even said she’ll pay for the delivery ha!God bless to all and be very carful!
Yes contacted her and got the same response be careful! thankfully I did nor send any money.
Now, her ad is on the OREGON LIVE "2005 Garage-Kept Anthracite Gray Metallic Acura TL with Navigation.Contact me at : 304-885-4725 or acura5tl@hotmail.com" 2005 Acura TL$4,500 | 69,650 mi WATCH OUT!!!!
Now a post in Phoenix Arizona for 2010 Honda Odyssey (www.cars.com)..... price too good to be true. Thanks for all the posts.... This car was recently sold in IL
Nancy, I know exactly what you went through. I am in that situation right now. Teresa Carrillo (teresa.carrillo@msn.com; 573.298.4807) just sold me 2006 Nissan Murano, VIN: JN8AZ08W36W551763 for $3,900 over the weekend through syracuse.com. I stupidly wired the money to the account in West Fargo, 13000 North I H-35 Bldg., Austin TX, 78753; account owner: Dale Richard Hoff. Unfortunately the assisting agent from my bank did not worn me about all the signs of the scam, and my love for the car blinded me enough, that I followed the instructions included in the invoice that was emailed to me from the so-called PayPal. I faxed over the receipt of the wire transfer transaction to the number from the invoice (206.350.3263); still don't know why it was necessary, since the money was already deposited in thief's account the day earlier. Is there more surprises to come? I am still in contact with Teresa and the PayPal guy. I discovered the fraud thanks to this site. As you, I tried to stop the transaction after it went through. Too late by the second. Nobody seems to be able to help me. Not my bank, nor the receiving bank. The local Police does not have jurisdiction in Texas; FBI receives thousands of claims like mine per month, they don't have resources and do not offer any hope. I reported the scam with IC3 (Internet Crime complain: www.ic3.gov) more for the benefit of other victims than mine. For all the long night shifts, weekends, and overtime that I worked for this money, I truly wish, she chokes on it while rotting in a jail one day. I curse her and her "PayPal" scamp. The worst feeling though is that the money may still be sitting in the West Fargo Bank and I can do nothing about it. Legal obligations of confidentiality agreement between the client (thief) and the beneficiary institution protects the wrong party. Nothing can be done for the victim who holds all the evidence of the fraud. There is something wrong with this picture. I too want to approach newspapers. People need to know about this scam as well as the inefficiency of the legal system.
Hi Katie, Thanks for being interested in buying my SUV! It`s in perfect condition,no scratches, damages, never been implicated in any accidents, it has only 85,000 miles and the price is $4,500.It has a clear title, free of any liens or loans. Because of my divorce settlement,i own this SUV and as a woman without driver`s license i don`t need it so i`m trying to get rid of it as soon as possible (that`s why i`m selling it so cheap). We will use PayPal for our protection, i want only legit transactions. Let me know where are you located, maybe we can organize an inspection.Have a great day!same e-mail as others were stating, current e-mail address she is using is "giselle.gavin32@comcast.net" She did provide a phone number as well and I spoke to her and even offered to fly down and look at vehicle to purchase in person. The woman still said no because it was already packed for shipping. THIS is the part that made me suspicious.
