I received a call from the 573-942-8989 number yesterday around 4:37 pm. I missed it and googled the number today. Funny thing is, I just moved from MT. to AZ. and have only had this phone for 2 weeks. As for these calls originating from Paris MT.~~~~ not possible as all of MT area codes are 406. I never answer phone numbers that are not programmed into my phone or ones I don't recognize.
Name Unknown @ 11:52am from 1-573-942-8989 - good thing I missed the call! :)Most likely scammers, since so many random people are getting these numbers.Could be a Robo-Call, where they "blind dial" any number that comes up.
Received a call from this number 573-942-8989. They didn't leave a message and it says disconnected when I call back. I am also on a do not call list on my home and cell number. Very odd.
Wow, this person is calling a lot of people. Just got the call. Didn't bother answering it. Have you tried Googling your number? I think that's how they get it.
EXPLANATION OF THIS SCAMI speak fluent Spanish and English, and have been called by this number a few times. yesterday, at 4:00 pm in California, I was called by it, so I decided to string them along and see what it was about. Here is the translation of what happens:The recorded voice in Spanish says, "Congratulations. You have just won a $1,000 prize. Please press '1' to claim your prize." I pressed one, and was connected to an operator speaking Spanish with an Argentinean or Chilean accent. She said I had won a prize, that they had my information on the computer, and she just needed to confirm my name. I gave her a false name, and answered some other general questions (how many children do you have, etc.) She even gave me the fake name of a company, "One Destination", with the false address "825 Brickel Bay, Anaheim, CA." After about 5 minutes, she said that my Visa card had won the drawing, and asked for the security code on the back of the card. I gave her a false number, and she asked a few more questions, eventually asking for the card number. I gave her all false information. At the very end, she asked for my address "as it appears on my credit card statement", so she could have UPS bring my prize by within two weeks. I told her, "No problem. My address is 666, Go F*** Yourselves Street. In the fair city of 'Stop Robbing People You A**holes Because I am Calling the Cops on You Mother F***ers Right Now'." She hung up.I don't think they'll be calling me again.
Ive been getting calls from this number also I got one maybe about 2 weeks ago. && i had a charge on my bill for 55.00 and they couldnt explain why or where it came from. They just came to a conclusion it was some kind of scam and they waived the fee. DO NOT ANSWER CALLS from 573-942-8989
