A guy with a heavy Indian accent called and said "I believe you are the owner and main user of the computer." I knew it was a solicitation so I said that I was not and he had the wrong number. He hung up immediately.
They are scammers. They will try to get on your computer system. Do not trust them. The area code is unassigned. They are spoofing. SCUM!
I get the same call periodically. It seems that soon after each call my email is hacked, maybe a coincidence. They are pretty aggressive and will not accept that what they are doing is illegal etc. someone should put a stop to this.
I take a page from my husband's work--I say "Service Professionals Tracking Systems, Amelia speaking. How may I direct your call?" and they're stumped. This guy said "I believe your computer system requires our services," and I said "Oh, you're from the company's internal network? Then you've got the wrong number, you must be new. Here's the number you need to dial"----And then I give him the local number for the time and temperature recording. If he calls back, I let him know that our internal computer systems manager has a masters' degree, and worked for Intel in Albuquerque before he came to us. Would you like me to patch you through to him, or would you like to speak to our facility's security manager, or the fraud division? Always dead silence from the idiots.
Received a call which indicated name unavailable. I let the machine answer. No message was left.
These guys have been calling often throughout the past couple of months. They called my mom and we were both well aware that they were just trying to scam us. I asked them questions such as "which operating system am I running?" "Which internet provider do I have?" To shut them up. I hope nobody falls for their scams.
I work rotating shifts and this really upsets me that I get awakened to Crap like this. The number was listed as unavailable, and I answered but did not say a word. There was no immediate feedback, just silence, so I hung up. I am also on the do not call registry-so much for that system working like it should. How these butt nuggets have the audacity to do this crap is irritating.
Such a scam. They wanted my IP address and email login information so that they could "effectively repair the problem with my computer" .......I don't feel like there is enough being done to stop this sort of crime. The Do Not Call list isn't enough. I am also on the list but it hasn't made any difference in the amount of calls I get.
