This is a total scam! The number on the letter and the sticker on the front of the card is 888-200-9959. When called on home phone, they stated that I have been selected to receive an emergency alert device at a discounted price. If I were over 50 years old, press the pound key. I did not do this, and they said hold and we will tell you about more products with great savings. I waited and then the phone was disconnected by them. It was an automated voice. I've contacted the bank to report this error.
rECEIvd replacement cr. card via usmail. Dialed 888-200-9959 from land line phone in home to activate, per sticky tape over card face. "Please have a pen ready to write down our #. For a charge of $3.79. THe # you have dialed has been changed to a new national direc. assist. service. Dial (1-702-589-9300. For more info on the # you have dialed & be connected to your party, Terms & Conditions are available a Calling10.com. There is a fee of $3.79" seriously, no ring tone, just immediate female recitation of that message. I called my issuing Bank customer #, explained, she passed me to fraud dept. No other such reports today. My Cell # does not get connected to that when dialing -JUST MY LAND LINE !! Repeatedly. Whass'up?!
This is a legitimate phone number with US Bank, calling to remind me to activate the replacement card I had them send.
Do not call this # to activate your CC - it is in error - call the # on the back of your CC. I called in & reported it - so be sure and do that so they can correct this matter.
I just called this number from my landline to activate my US Bank Kroger card. It went to a company called Saveology who made an offer of a $100 discount card with 7 day cancellation. However, they did request a card number to process automatic renewal of the program.
I did the same thing, but I realized that I dialed "800" instead of "888". The 800 one seems like some kind of scam, while the 888 number is legitimate.
