I do not have Blue Cross, neither do I have a health problem. They called and were blocked by my Sentry 2 system. Now, I have rejected their number, so I will never hear from them again.
Once, a long time ago I called for advise. BIG MISTAKE! Now they call me almost daily, all times of the day. If I had a problem, I would call, I don't need them calling me all the time and am sick of it!
If this call is to see how I am doing they don't need to know as I do not have Blue Cross and it's none of their friggen business.
Insurance companies partner with Health Coach. I'd say complaints should go to our health insurance companies since they contract with and pay for the service. I'm with Independence Administrators through work. Haven't been to a doctor in 6 months. Suddenly I'm the only person at work getting these calls. The caller never leaves a voice mail. First call was in Nov and I answered. She called me by name but wanted my zip code and birthdate. She used my birthdate to choose the topic of discussion that was appropriate for my age group. The caller seemed to be reading to information as she went along. Not helpful at all since doctors discuss the same thing at a person''s physical. Second call was less than a month later; same woman again asking for my zip code and birthdate. This time I only gave her my zip code and told her we only spoke less than a month ago. She didn't know what we discussed or anything relating to that call. She's a persistent woman but without my birthdate she didn't have a reason (topic) for the call. She wasn't about to let me off the phone and kept pressing forward. Told her several times that I had no idea she was going to call frequently. I told her that I would call her when I had something I wanted information on. She doesn't need to call me to offer info. They must have quotas to meet so they can tell your insurance agency they are doing their job.
These people are creating a problem for me and making me incurr in additional expenses, as they call my cell number which is a pay-per-use number. I am surprised that they even have this number because not even my own insurance company has that number, and I do not have BCBS! Because of their calls, I am paying abut $2.00 per day because they even call several times in a day. I called them back from my unlisted home phone and requested them to stop and explained that they are calling a pay-per-use phone, but to no avail; they continue their calls. I just spoke to someone by the name Kim, she refused to give out her last name, and I requested her to stop their calls and mentioned that I am reporting this abuse to the Better Business Bureau and to Consumer Affairs, but she didn't seem to be concerned about that or even cared! She just wanted to get additional information like my name! Please stop this harrassment, you are making me sick with this abuse. If I am sick I go to my doctor, so don't worry about my health. I don't know the purpose of these calls, and I don't know what these people are trying to do. Maybe this is political or marketing organization?
some of you people seem to treat an unwanted phonecall like it was a festering pimple on your forehead and tonight is the prom! Cheese guys, let it be. It also sounds like you think preventative medicine is something that prevents you from being healthy. When I spoke to them I just said no thank you and that was that. You see I had a heart attack and they wanted to know what information I might need so I don't have another. I figure if I blow a gasket like some of you are doing I'll be right on track for my second.
Then when I get these calls, how come I gotta inform THEM of what I got?? They should already know what my diagnosis is and be UP=TO=DATE with me.I would rather talk with the nurses who already know my condition and have already been in contact with me, than me educating others... or maybe that's what I should do. Can I get paid for this? hee hee hee
Called me on my cell-phone in 01/06/10 at about 4:00pm EST. Left no message in my voice mail. Looking at the posts above me concerning it possibly being a Health Coach connected to Blue Cross/Blue Shield Health Insurance, this seems plausible since my wife and I have been on BC/BS for the past two years. While I never had this number on my Caller ID before, we have had a number of HELPFUL calls from the BC/BS-related Health Coaches, and I believe this is another such attempt. However, I DO agree with others herein that the callers should clearly identify themselves, the full name of who they are calling to speak with, and leave at least a short message3 of who they are and what they need on answering machines or voice-mail boxes.
