I stayed at The Cove resort in Yarmouth, MA back in May. I didn't know it was a timeshare resort, in that most of the units are owned by an individual or family. I was told how nice of a place it was, how the rates were so reasonable and the location was ideal. I looked at their website, liked what I saw, and booked a weekend stay. In July while I was on vacation on the west coast, my cell phone started blowing up 5,6,7 times a day from this 603-718-1050 number. On the 4th day of getting constant calls with silly messages saying "you've won a major prize!" I finally answered the phone. I told the girl that I wasn't interested in any prizes even going so far as letting her spew her sales pitch. I then concluded it was a timeshare marketing ploy and she confirmed that my weekend stay at The Cove is where they received my information. So Justin or anyone claiming to be in charge of this so-called company is incorrect: you do NOT have to fill anything out to be harassed by them. If checking into a hotel and making a reservation is their way of gathering information and getting lists of names of people to stalk then not only are they beyond shady, they need to be shut down. No legitimate company would ever allow the kind of word-of-mouth publicity they are getting by employing people who are rude and apparently uneducated in proper business practices. At the end of the phone call with the girl I spoke to in July she said she would immediately remove my name from their lists and not call me again. Obviously that was another lie because the phone rang again tonight from NorthEast Gateways. There is absolutely nothing positive that can be said about this company, its representatives or anything they stand for that is just, fair or with integrity.

I came across this thread while trying to investigate the legitimacy of the phone call I received last week from this company. It seems as though most people in this thread are upset about not being removed from the call list, but it doesn't appear that anyone has attended the 90 minute presentation and not received their airline tickets, which is my main concern. I spoke to their Rep on the phone at length and he told me there was "absolutely no cost" other than my time to receive the tickets. He definitely did not say anything about a $100 deposit (or whatever it is) to access or book the ticket vouchers, so I will be interested to see if Justin could weigh in on that. I have an open mind about this presentation even though I sat through a timeshare spiel about 7 years ago that had a vacation prizefighter that was practically impossible to redeem. I promise that after I attend the presentation I will post my experience in the thread so that others can decide if it's worth their time. Additionally, I was told that it would be perfectly fine to bring my 4 year old daughter to the presentation. The last time I went on one of these tours the tour lasted 90 minutes or so, but then the salespeople basically trapped us all in a room for another hour or so to pressure us in to buying. That won't fly with a preschooler so I will definitely be keeping my eye on the clock and will let you all know how long it actually lasts from start to finish. If the company stays true to it's claim that there is no cost to me and they let us leave peacefully after 90 minutes then I will be happy to share positive reviews with personal friends and on the Internet. If anything comes across as being a misrepresentation or a scam then I will be broadcasting that instead!

Please ignore that it says "prizefighter"! It was just supposed to say "prize". Stupid autocorrect!

I received multiple calls from this number after filling out a Home Depot sweepstakes at a town fair. There was NOT any small print, front or back of this form stating the information would be sold or distributed elsewhere. Anyways, after much skeptisism, we gave and in and agreed to a no obligation "90 min presentation" at a resort that was one hour from our home. We were promised a FUTURE overnight stay ("no rooms were available the night before our presentation"), a $40 gas card OR Common Man restaurant gift certificate, full use of the resort pools after our presentation and 4 round trip airfare to be used for 2 seperate vacations to 30+ locations. We bought our children, both under age 3 (which we informed them of ahead of time, stating we couldn't come without them, and they told us they were more than happy to have them attend. We enjoyed our tour of the property, it was beautiful. The saleman was very, very pushy however, but we realized that this was his job- so we were okay with that until I think he realized we were NOT going to give in and buy an overpriced time share....then he started getting down right mean! He was making comments about my children being too noisy (they are very well behaved, but they ARE kids?!), he told my husband that if he wouldnt buy a vacation club share then he was just cheap and that was the only reason someone wouldnt and that you cant put a price on "family time" so he muct no be a good family man. VERY INSULTING. We are not cheap, we are just not going to waste our hard earned money on something we know nothing about with only 1 hour to think about it.At the end of our presentation, we said we MIGHT be interested if you could get our own financing, not pay the automatic "18% without a credit check." We said we would like to go home, review the fine print, maybe with a lawer and also go to our bank to see about financing. He said he was not allowed to hold an offer for more than one day. (By the way, there wasnt really an "offer", they gave us the price printed out on the brochure with no negotiation) That is just silly...."No you can't go home and think about buying real estate... you need to just give me $20,000 with an 18% interest rate, then you can refinace later if you want..." Yeah right.

Oh by the way, after multiple phone messsage....once we finally agreed to set up a "presentation" the lady on the phone from Northeast Getaways was actually very pleasant. We even called her back a couple times with questions and she was always readily available and polite.

not a scam....I went to a home show, got a call from these same people. I actually went to the presentation, which was exactly what they said, no more than 90 minutes long, not high pressure. Never asked for my credit card #, I had not intentions of buying a time share, but walked away with my 4 roundtrip tix!! Plus, they gave a me 40$ gas voucher. Sometimes there are scams, but this one isnt....soryy to disappoint those who have not spoken to the people there, because if you want to travel, your tix will be free just for attending. That was my experience

JP, I did go to thier presentation.....nice resort, but I had NO intentions of buying. They did need my credit card, but for ID purposes....they even let me put my finger over the numbers on my card, just showing my name. Also I had to show my drivers license. They were very pleasant, and when I declined thier offer, they were not rude. I left with my tickets. I do understand how people think this is a scam, but it really isnt. I am going away with my family, and there were no booking fees, or and other hidden costs, and I think those who say its a scam, havent even dealt with them.....its worth the 90 min preview to get the gifts they offer. Overall, it was a great experience!
