Hi, was the PDF you linked to specifically from Northeast Getaways? We were hoping to sit through their 90 minute presentation for the airfare as we are flying to London in June. We are not staying in London however but was thinking we could just pay the hotel fee for minimum night stay and it would work out cheaper than paying for the airfare. Per the PDF, this is not the case. Also, the dates we need to fly are blacked out for some unknown reason as it is not close to Easter or Christmas. The presentation is an hour away so really only want to go if the airfare is worth it. We cannot afford to buy into any vacation club at the moment. Thanks for any direction you can provide.
We just received the same call from KWC Marketing saying that my daughter had her name drawn from an entry at the Marshfield (MA) Fair (last August!). When I told the caller that the same message had been given her last fall, and how could that happen again, he said that it was possible to have the same name drawn twice. I told him that we had investigated NE Getaways and KWC and that it was not on the up-and-up. And I hung up. The entry that my daughter filled out was for a free grocery card; no mention of the names being used for anything else. I am going to let the Marshfield Fair know not to host these people who are dishonest about their entry purposes.
I entered what I thought was a home depot giveaway at the Manchester, Nh chilli cook off. Most definetly at time share scam. I feel like going, getting the tickets and running.
To all of you who are reading or posting on this site, I would like to give you a different perspective on Northeast Getaways. I am currently a phone rep for this company. Many of us are good, hardworking people. We are high school and college students, parents and grandparents. For some of us this is our first job, for others we are returning to the workforce and our chosen profession is no longer an option. Almost all of us enjoy talking on the phone. None of us are rich or evil. Most of us are like you and appreciate having a job.As far as I know, this is not a scam, but a good deal. We as people have almost all had some experience with scams and are leery of good news from strangers, especially faceless ones over the phone. We actually understand that the average person in today's world is skeptical. We have been trained to fully explain our offer and reassure you that what we say is true. We would not knowingly lie. We get paid only if you come preview one of our properties. If anyone of our company is less than pleasant to you, we truly do not know unless you call us back. We call entry forms that have been given to us by our supervisors, and have no say in which ones we are given. None of us want to knowingly call someone who does not want to talk to us. If we continue to leave messages or call without leaving messages it is because when you don't answer we assume you are not at home. If you answer and are rude or short with us most of us will try to be polite in return. If you tell us you have been previously called and do not want any more contact from us, we will put your entry form in a do not call bin. Do we make mistakes? Absolutely. Do we love everything about our company? Absolutely not. But remember, we are just doing the best job we can with the information and job that we have, just like most of you.I appreciate you taking the time to read this which brings me to the last point I'd like to make. Many of us are good people who are struggling in this poor economy. Many of us complain that nobody is doing anything, yet we are almost all able to do something about it. Remember, when someone does contact you about something like this, know that in many instances it is an honest person trying to make a living on the other end. By being open minded and positive, you have the chance to help that person's budget, along with all the other people that you encounter - their supervisor, call center manager, resort personel, vacation destination workers...etc. That in turn helps the economy and yourself. I know there are many scams out there. With a bit of your time and diligence you can avoid them while still taking advantage of and promoting your economy and well being.
Too skeptical. Me and my wife did a tour in ogunquit. The resort was nice , I wouldn't buy a timeshare though. It wasn't high pessure and I got the friggen tickets thatYour all crazy not to take we went to Florida stayed 6 nights And saved like 300. they called ALOT , yes but Overall I'm glad I did it
i keep getting calls at 10am, i work late and I am being woken up daily. The woman, Elizabeth, keeps telling me i agreed to be called, that there was something on the back of an entry form that i filled out for a home depot gift card. Even tho I continually tell her to stop calling me then hang up, she calls me back the very next day!
We have a three step confirmation process which includes you speaking to a representative, a manager, and then receiving everything in writing prior to your attendance.
How so? I am interested in knowing how I am a jerk simply for answering questions and/or objections from concerned consumers.
