trade magazine publication call. I receive print industry and travel industry trade magazines - most are free an they give you a call once every 12 months to confirm your mailing address. It saves money for them - and the magazines (free) are appreciated, so I usually am patient with them. The calls are always from someone far outside the US. They don't usually ask for any personal info - and they will verify what they have on their records. If you want to confirm that it's the trade publication(s) calling, just give them a different spelling of your name or something peculiar - and then, the next time you get the magazine, you'll see the change on the label. It's a legit business - and if they're calling you, it's likely because you receive any number of free publications / trade magazines in the mail Just because the person has a foreign accent or is calling from Taiwan or India or elsewhere doesn't mean they're a 'bad' person or that the call is for illicit purposes. It's mildly annoying, but if you ask them to discontinue the publication(s) they will -- and the calls will stop as well. If you keep the free subscription coming, the call only comes once a year - but the auto-dialler will continue to call randomly until the subscription is confirmed.
Redmond media regarding a free digital subscription, even though it's digital they wanted to "verify" my information and address. scam scam scam
Answered and spoke with Indian woman. She said she was from a magazine called "internet.com" (yeah, I never heard of it either!!) and wanted to verify my information, but before I had a chance to stop her, she rattled off my name, company name, title, address, city, state and zip, all of which were even correct. I told her I wanted to be removed from the list and she said, "Oh.... OK. Thank you." She actually sounded sad that I asked to be removed but didn't try to talk me into anything and then ended the call. I was quite surprised.
Meeting Focus Magazine, a "free publication." Caller asked for someone who doesn't work here anymore, then wanted to know if I was the person in the position that person used to occupy. As soon as I heard the word free I said no thank you and hung up.
This number keeps calling my cell phone and I have it on the do not call list. I want it to stop. Thank you.
It is a subscription renewal service for an IT related magazine; if you have a subscription, they call to renew for another year.
I get these calls constantly...every day! Their website is www.lesterinc.comAppears to be a legitimate company but they have a annoying way of telemarketing. I would NEVER do any business with them PERIOD!
Calls come from this number at least twice a day for weeks now. I found out they are Lester, Inc., a telemarketer of magazines. I blocked the number (hopefully they won't use a different number) and reported them to the DO NOT CALL phone number. I am already on the Do Not Call Registry, but it doesn't seem to work as intended. (I doubt if that will do any good, but at least I was able to block their number on my phone, so hopefully that will be the end of these unwanted calls).
