received a call on 10/10/2017 at 5:51pm. used a caller id place Smith Technology, not from my area. What can we do besides reporting this company.....remember folks, if you don't report this number it will continue calling you.
Left VM. Said if you were using Microsoft Windows, call this number to speak with security team. Scam!! Blocked number.
Left message saying our computer had been hijackef & our personal info was being stolen. Would make our computer obsolete. If we are using Microsoft Windows on our computer we needed to call their security team right away. Isn't there a place they can be reported for illegal scams who are trying to rip off unsuspecting people who may freak out and get conned by these folks.
Recording saying that if I was using Windows my security was at risk by hackers. Told me to call them. Also said if this call was made by mistake blah blah blah.
Got a recorded message stating my computer was in danger. The interesting thing is it was a male computer voice that was reading from a script written by someone who does not quite know english. My guess this scam is out of India.
