We just had "Jamie" from International Credit Recovery call one of our employees stating that we owed money from an Internet Publication that we had agreed to a 30 day trial and we never called to cancel. She stated she had a recording of our employee agreeing to it. Our employee NEVER agreed to it. She stated that we had to pay the prorated delinquent balance in 24 hours by credit card or we would have to pay for the entire year subscription. She also stated that they had reported this to the credit bureau. We asked to hear the "recorded" conversation and she said that legally she cannot let us hear that. What a SCAM! We are reporting them today.
I work at a nonprofit. Same thing. Call for a bill overdue for something I did not order. I'm calling the Attorney General of NY. Woman Named Amanda Sprague left a message... "i'm sure this is just an oversight."
I am going through the same thing, claiming an employee order a subscription. When I asked for proof of ordering, bu any means, I was told they asked for a birthday, and said that date was May 5..(incorrect) I suspect a bluff, and was wondering what they tell anyone else for a birthday date.
This company called up and badgered one of my employees, telling them that I (the owner) had ordered a publication, that I hadn't paid and that our credit was at risk. The employee got worried and decided to pay up via credit card because the woman kept saying that our credit would be dinged. When I got to work the next day, I immediately recognized the claim as bogus and phoned the company THREE times. I was hung up on twice and the 3rd time, it went to an answering machine. We never subscribed to the publication in question. We never received a bill. This is a fraudulent company.
Same thing for me too. The person who called me said her name was Jamie. She called me at work. When I refused to pay her she said she was going to call my supervisor. Wooooo!
"Katie Gotham" left a message on my work voicemail saying she was surprised that such a small amount went to a collections agency, but could I call back to straighten out this whole deal. It sounded fishy, so I Googled the phone number and found all of your comments about this company. I'm sure glad that I didn't bother to call her back. Get a real job, "Katie," and stop bothering honest people.
yep! i just got another call from tiffany jones of ICR at this number. i called progressive business publications and let them know to call her at this number and two others that she called from and then called HER to let her know they would be calling about her harassment! she says she doesn't have time to send this "collection" matter out, yet she takes the time to argue about it all!
