I got two calls - on right after the other.Did not answer it. Will ask TWC to block it. However I saw another comment where somebody says they just call from a different number if you block them. How can these people get away with this when you are on the Do Not Call List and have No Mo Robo?????
" Tory" asked for a call back at an 866#. Could hear people in background answering " RCI"
These scumbags are spoofing the N*** R*** robocaller reporting line. This will also possibly result in you being unable to check your voicemail temporarly or even for several days. If anyone gets a business name from them, please post.I have turned this over to a switch tech who is able to trace using info in the IP CID string, so we will see what happens.
This # has gotten past call block device & nomorobo several times after calling in rapid succession and is always a scam. I finally added to my blocked list on Frontier.
This from the N*** R*** websiteWhy Am I Getting Calls From 608-371-6666?Here's why you're getting calls from 608-371-6666 (NOMO):To ensure that we don't block important calls made by humans, when a suspected robocaller calls you, we answer the call and play the following message to them:This phone is protected by N*** R*** to prove you're not a robocaller please enter the #...If the caller successfully enters the random number (technically called a CAPTCHA), we send the call back to you but we change the Caller id to 608-371-6666 (NOMO). If we didn't do this, the call would get caught in an endless loop. Here's an example. Let's say that Shady Charity, Inc is making some calls to ask for donations. Their phone number is 800-555-0100 and, of course, it's blacklisted. When they call, they'll hear the message asking them to type in a random number but, since they have live people making the calls, they're able to get through. You'll first get a call from 800-555-0100 and then it will stop after one ring (because we answered it). After a slight delay (while the worker types the random number) you'll get another call (it'll be the same Shady Charity worker) but this time, the Caller ID will show as 608-371-6666.We've heard reports that sometimes the Caller ID Name says "MAINE MED CTR". This is incorrect and we're working with our carrier to fix this.
This caller is a frequent flyer. We have NomoRobo. The phone rings once, and Caller ID just reads, "Incoming Call" and leaves no trace thereafter that any call came in. Immediately after NomoRobo cuts it off after one ring, we receive a second call, which seems to always ring only twice. (Our setting is for our voice message to kick in after six rings); Caller ID displays this number, and does leave a record that the call came in. Of course there are no messages. Calls like these want to be sneak attacks. Some posts I read here and elsewhere suggest that this is somewhat of a universal number for all second calls that follow one ringers, such that the second call might be from a variety of callers. Some posts suggest, too, that the first call was a legitimate call. Regarding the latter: From what I understand, NomoRobo blocks automated calls (hence its name, Nomorobo). I'm not aware that it does more than that, like blocking other numbers it has determined to be scams/spam.
Not a Robo Call. Care GM Carpet called about power washing. Advised I was on do not call, they stated will take me off call list. Still blocked with FIOS blocker.
