Call came in to my cell phone. My exchange is 356 so I answered it and a recorded voice said I received a free trip to the Bahamas. Sure! Area code does not match for 356 and city said Boston MA.
just got call about half hour ago... Never answer calls I don't know, rang twice than hung up. No message
Called my home phone, and since it was my area code, I picked up...it's from "customer support" Blegh!
Called me and they did not leave a message. No on the auto reject list
I get this call almost everyday but I do not answer since I do not recognize the number. They never leave a voice mail. How does one stop pests like these?
Well, they're still at it. Then again, just because the number comes up on your caller ID doesn't mean that's where it's actually coming from. Caller ID is rarely meaningful on these illegal calls.
I have filed a number of complaint with the DNC. I have kept a list of these numbers and I have not received calls for any of those number.I have found the DNC registry works. But you do have to reregister every time you start getting telemarketer calls again. You can (and will) start receiving telemarketer calls every time you give your number out. (You have to think twice about giving your number out.) This information came from the Massachusetts Attorney Generals Consumer Fraud office. Also, beware of calling a number back. If you do, watch your phone bill carefully. A strange charge may show up. Often it is only a dollar or so but if you miss the charge the owner of the number you call may continue to charge you. I have found that the phone co. will remove the charge, but I usually notice the charge right away. The information in this paragraph came from Verizon.
I've been called several times and I'm on the do not call list

Received a call from 866-385-1344 with an extension of 7693 and said they (Alan) were with CIBC. When I called the number it did NOT say CIBC and when I keyed in the extension it stated this extension could not take calls.

It’s a number verifying that you changed your voicemail code. Not anything bad.
