After I answered they only said my coworkers name and when I replied "who may I ask is calling" they hung up

On Friday, August 9, 2012 I received a call from a man calling himself Felix Russell from Toronto responding to an ad for a car that I had for sale in Winnipeg. The number he was calling from was 648-777-7775. We agreed to a price of $7,350.00 for the vehicle. He gave me his land line phone number which was 1-905-598-1429 as well as his e-mail address whch was russellfx@yahoo.com. He asked for my address so as he could send me a cheque by UPS the following Monday. On Tuesday, August 14, 2012 the cheque arrived by UPS in the amount of $12,350.00. The cheque was drawn from the Banque Nationale Du Canada 842,3e Avenue Val d'Or, Quebec J9P 1T1. Also on the cheque was the name of Lebonfon Inc. 1051, rue de l'Echo. C.P. 40 Val d'Or Quebec J9P 4N9.Shortly after receiving the cheque I received a phone call from the so-called Mr. Russell again from 648-777-7775 asking for confirmation that I had received the cheque. I told him that I received the cheque but that it was for $5,000.00 more than the agreed upon amount. He indicated that the additonal amount was the security required by the Transport Company that was going to deliver the vehicle to him.Before he could say any more, I told him that this smelled of a scam and that I wasn't interested in proceeding any further. I then hung up on him. He never called back.

To all reader's, be very carefull. Thursday the 30/08/2012, I received a call from a man identifiing himself as my grandson and claiming that he was involved in a car accident and that he was incarcerated in Quebec city precinct and he claimed 2000.00$ for his release. Thank god I was able to reach my true grandson wich assured me that he was not in a police station in Quebec city and that he never was arrested and has never been involved in a car accident. Please be very vigilent and do not respond to such caller car they are thief's.

My friend called from this number. He was just using a phone card.

Did not recognise the area code, so did not answer, and instead looked up the number. That led to here and reading your blogs.

my mom received a phone call from this # and impersonated my brother saying that he was in a car accident....she just kinda went along with it just jokingly as she knew it was some sort of a scam but didn't give any personal information....I hope others are smart enough not to be fooled

i get a call from this number every day , its a guy with a heavy accent , at first he asked for a name and what country im in . i told him a fake name and country and then he said that he wants to have sex with me. I never answered after that. creepy.

I got a call from this number just now; they just said "I think I got a wrong number" and hung up. Weird.

My In-laws called me yesterday looking fo their son, who was here with me. My mother in law was very upset and told me that they had a call from someone pretending to by my husband saying "mom it's your son, I have been in an accident my nose is broken can't talk much, talk to my lawyer". At that point the phone was given to a man calling himself Walter Green a legal aid lawyer and he wanted them to send $1800 to Patrick Piccard the Court Clerk at 77 Victoria St. in Quebec to pay his bail to get him out of jail. Lucky they decided to call and check to make sure everything was ok here and that my husband was indeed here and not in Quebec. These people are the lowest of the low.

Just got a call from this number and it scared the crap out of me! I thought it was my brother in law. He said "hey, how are you?" and i could tell he was crying so i said "what's wrong?!" and he said "i got into a car accident last night and broke my nose". I said "where's the baby?!" and he hung up. NOT COOL! My heart i still in my throat!
