I get the "I'm from Microfost tech support " each time. I told this guy I had the last call traced and the police were tracking my calls. They would be showing up to see him shortly. He called me an idiot and hung up. Most are 3rd world SE Asia.

I when this number called me i had never seen it before and the caller id said palmdale area.

Male called my cell phone and wanted to know my name, I asked who it was and he said "Bill"and I asked Bill who? He mumbled a last name beginning with a "M". In the background you could hear furniture crashing like a fight in a house and a woman in the background. He frantically states he needs my help and he has an emergency. I didn't say anything more and soon the noise all stopped and the woman said to the guy, "'she hung up, she's not there, she hung up'", after a few more moments of silence he shouted "' F**** '"then hangs up. Our local station featured a similar scenario on scams where the caller presents as having an emergency then hangs up, you call back out of concern and you are charged long distance fee and they try to keep you on line as long as possible. KaChing $ Sorry Bill ….no can do! I checked incoming calls and number was 661-748-0241.

It's someone calling through Skype. I work at a church and this number comes up a lot when missionaries call.

I got a call from them with the caller id Skype User saying they were doing safety research survey and wanted to ask me some questions. He asked me if I had a security system. I said, are you trying to sell me one? He said, we are just asking questions about safety. I said what is your next question. He hung up.

This number just called and it said "Skype User" on the caller I.D. I almost picked it up because I do have relatives in California with that area code. Instead, I let it go to voicemail just in case it wasn't my relative. I am so glad I did that. They didn't leave a message, and when I checked my address book the number was similar but not the same as my relative. Next time I will answer and see what happens.

Called my wife 6 times asking do you have my money so I took the phone and answered but remained silent it hung up 4 times then called again asking if I like jello and saying his name was ed. It's a Skype number with a voice over app. Some hyperactive teenager is taking his prank to far and has nothing better to do with his time. He hasn't called back and I hope he doesn't it'll be passed on to someone to handle with more authority then local police

This number is associated with Skype. My friend have communicated with me from Mexico with Skype, this is the number that shows on my caller I.D.

I received a call on my cell phone from 661-748-0241. I don't answer calls unless I recognize the caller. They did not leave a message and I have not called back to find out who they are. As soon as I Googled the #, I found that this is most likely a scam (my immediate reaction), so I am posting my experience here.
