That's not true... I'm an IT professional and in 20 years on the internet I've never once put my real name on it.. Never once had a craigslist add, Never once signed up for an email or anything using my real name.. I have protected my real name at all costs and yet they knew my real name. i would propose they are buying call lists, cell phone numbers attached to real names they obtained illegally somehow.. I would also suggest to not answer skype calls and ignore them.

why? what will NCIS do?

got 2 calls from 661-748-0241 and 0240. Claimed to be from Cleveland PD and that someone had been calling leaving lewd messages from our number.

Left a message saying that they were from American Registry with an 888 number to call back . . . . .

I got a call from this number. They said they were Microsoft and that my computer was sending out error messages to them. They wanted me to turn on my computer an let them guide me through "fixing" the problem. They essentially wanted to take control of my computer remotely.I told them I didn't have any problem with my computer and if they were getting error messages, they should fix them on their own. It was a foreign man, probably Indian.

So this guy with a deep voice called asking if I was a hooker from Craigslist and if we could do stuff? I'm not even a legal adult yet and mortified. His number is 661-748-0241. I don't know this guy and I'm really confused. If this keeps up I'm going to the cops.

Sat 6:45pm EST - Received the same type of call. Microsoft rep stated there were several critical events and warnings slowing down my pc. I looked at the list and he was right. The only problem is he could only fix certain ones. Asked me about a Registry clean up program. I said I couldn't afford it unless Dell adds it to my account. Was suppose to call again Sunday, but I haven't from him yet. Still not sure if I need to wait for him, or if there is another way to solve those events.

I've also received calls from this number on my cellphone.No one on the call when answered.No messages left.A PITA.

Just got a call from this number. Everyone I know and want to be in contact with me is in my phone book. If a name doesn't come up on an incoming call or I don't recognize the number I NEVER answer and let it go to voicemail. My voicemail message says the same thing. "If your number is unknown to me I will not answer the phone so leave a message with your name and number." I have an iPhone 4S so I can also block these numbers as I discover through sites like this one that they belong to people I don't want to talk to. Thanks for all the good info here.
