you are wrong unfortunately I know firsthand we have privatized R prisons to the point but the shady companies are getting contracts for the phones it is legit if you want to call a 5 or 10 minute phone call that cost you $45 legit but in my case it was my brother in jail and he had no one else so unless you want to leave your loved ones locked up answer the damn phone

It can be charged to your phone as a collect call if you push a certain number.

The number is from a third party who handles calls from inmates to individuals. They can be collect calls OR they can be prepaid collect calls. If it is prepaid collect, a person would register with Inmate Sales and deposit money to be used for an inmate calling their specified phone number. This is a convenience for inmates who want to call someone who is willing to pay for the call in advance.
